Kangaroo dogs, or sometimes known as Kangaroo wolves, are dogs with features of kangaroos. They have a broad, kangaroo tail, and huge, sensitive ears. Their back legs are used to bounce and run, and are extremely powerful. Sometimes used as guard dogs, because these animals kick and bite to defend themselves. They always love to play, and are silent predators. They have a slim structure and muzzle, and can run very fast. They can be kept as house pets, and can be unnaturally or naturally coloured.

Name: Aranthera~ I think this would be a appropriate name. It means Scorpion Orchid, which is a brown and cream coloured orchid.
Gender: Female

Username: Uboa (Tanetane)
Name: Cipan, meaning tapir in the Malay language
Gender: Female
Flower: Placed on the back of her collarShy . Kind . Reserved . Peaceful . Quiet . PassionateCipan is an adult Kangaroo Dog with the coat of a Malayan Tapir calf. Compared to most male Kangaroo Dogs, she is rather large, since female Tapirs tend to be bigger than the males. She is a sweet girl who is a child at heart, with a love of the smells and sounds of tropical rainforests, they hold a sentimental place in her heart and remind her of her childhood. Though she is twenty two in human years, still healthy and young, her eyesight is bad. Malayan Tapirs share the same problem as Cipan, and both survive by relying on their hearing and sense of smell.
Though most Kangaroo Dogs are omnivores and scavengers, being a half canine species, Cipan prefers plants, like grasses, shrubs, leaves and bubs. Some of her favorite foods, however, are aquatic plants found in swamps. One Cipan's favorite thing to do is to wallow and swim in water, preferably swamps where her favorite foods are located. She may lay in a shallow pond for hours, letting the stray rays of light sun her back.
Being a Tapir in mind, Cipan prefers to feed around sunset and sunrise. She will stay up a little into the night, before falling asleep right in the middle of it. Cipan spends most of her time awake during the very early morning, or the dawn, and is most familiar with seeing the sun low in the distance, and red skies. She is never awake during the middle of the day, or the middle of the night. This sleeping pattern makes her a crepuscular animal.
As mentioned before, Cipan is still a child at heart and never lost her imagination or appreciation of beauty. Maybe she doesn't see beauty like we do, but she can hear, smell and feel. Brushing past the grasses on the ground, and feeling the dew drops on the leaves, or hearing the sound of a misty waterfall, that's beautiful to Cipan. She doesn't need to see it well to know that. Cipan has a fascination in everything around her like it was the first time she ever saw It, and never loses interest in nature.
Cipan doesn't speak often, and when she does, her words are in soft whispers. It's almost as if she's afraid to speak, that if she did she'd scare away the birds and silence their songs. Her step is bouncy, but light and soft, showing both energy and care in her. As Tapirs often are, Cipan is easily scared and skittish. Even the slightest rustle of a leaf could send her running away to hide in a bush. She is just as cautious with other Kangaroo Dogs, Cipan loves to have a friend to rely on and listen to, but she isn't one to make as many as she can. She prefers to have a few special ones who appreciates beauty like she does. Being funny doesn't matter much to Cipan, as much as kindness does. She wants someone to explore with her, and to silently observe the world around them.
Cipan HATES cats, especially big cats, they're her least favorite animals, and she probably wouldn't like any cat based Kangaroo Dogs. Instincts tell her to dislike cats, because in nature, big cats are the Tapir's main predator. Cipan is inoffensive, and relies on her wits and speed to help her escape. Her teeth are built for chewing leaves, not for biting (though most Tapirs use their teeth for defense), so Cipan's main defense is the tail and kicking ability all Kangaroo Dogs have. The first thing Cipan will do when confronted with a predator is try to escape as fast as she can, not but running, but by hopping great distances. If cornered, Cipan will kick and use her tail to whip her opponent, until she is given an opportunity to run away. Water gives her an advantage, not only can see thrash waters at her enemies using her tail, but can lose predators easily in streams.
Intense situations make Cipan very emotional, instead of her usual, peaceful, calm self. She is very shaken by confrontations with predators, or disputes with other Kangaroo Dogs, especially since she is not as strong as most Kangaroo Dogs. Cipan stays as peaceful as possible with everyone around her, even cats, if she can help it. When her emotions are high, she will usually start crying instead of showing signs of being mad, even if she is angry. It is uncontrollable for her, even when she isn't sad, so she would appear vulnerable to challengers. Because of this, Cipan has learned to become stoic in a way, by controlling her tone of voice. Although she may appear on the verge of crying, if Cipan keeps her voice low and refrains from yelling, she might be able to keep herself from breaking down and sobbing.
It doesn't take much to get Cipan back to her normal, passive self, as she normally isn't someone to become overly emotion or upset. That being said, what always calms down Cipan is the cool night air, and a nice dip in a pond. As a house pet, she's a cuddler, and sleeps mostly with the first toy she can grab. She doesn't like silence, in fact, Cipan prefers some ambient noise in the background, like the roar of a waterfall, the chirping of birds, or the whistle of the wind. Concentrating on a particular sound helps her wind down and fall asleep, while silence is unsettling to her. According to Cipan's instinct, if it's quiet, something's wrong. There should always been some sound filling the air.
Cipan's flower is very special and dear to her. She found her flower during one her adventures through her childhood home, a lowland rainforest. Though she can't see it well and appreciate it's full beauty, Cipan adores it's smell and keeps it with her at all times. It's worn always at the back of her collar, because to Cipan, it's reassuring to feel the flower brushing up against the fur on her neck, reminding her that her flower is always there. She's very careful and dainty with it, never even letting it bend if she can help it.
Her favorite song is Winchester Cathedral by The New Vaudeville Band, and she loves it when it's played on a record. Winchester Cathedral puts Cipan in a good mood, as it was one of the first songs she heard when she entered domestic life. She keeps a personal record of it in her room. Why do I want Cipan?:Tapirs are some of my favorite animals, and I love the interesting patterns Malayan Tapir calves have. Not only that, but this Kangaroo Dog has some of my favorite colors on her, lovely shades of brown. <3 I hope this Kangaroo Dog goes to someone who shares my love of Tapirs, it would be a shame for her to go to someone who only appreciates how pretty she is, instead of what she's inspired by.

Personality: Blackberry, or Berry, is always nice. She has a very nice heart, and loves anyone else that would like to befriend. She loves playing, especially with little KDs. She's always happy, and just about anything you do can't get a smile off her face. However, she can be sneaky and will sometimes sneak away to do her own business somewhere ^^
