    • Argh! You want to know my name? Well you scurvy dog, my name is Summer Paradise. Tis not a fearsome as me reputation but you can call me Para, Paradise, or Summer if me name is too long for your little head. Ahah, just jokin with you lad, nothin' harmful. Now, continue onward with your interrogation.

      Image

Lad...You want to know me? About me 'personality'? Ahahah! Boy ye better sit down because it might be a long tale.

Me name is Summer Paradise, although most call me "Para". I'm the Cap'n of the ship "Drunkin Rat" with a crew count of 15 hands. Feel free to look at me lad, I ain't a pretty picture. Never have been and most likely never will. Even as a pup I wasn't the best for actin'. I was a pickpocket when I was young, and roamed the streets where I lived. I wasn't an orphan or anything like that, I just liked to run. Me Da, he got me out of trouble a few times when I was caught pickin' the wrong pockets. Ah Da, he taught me everything ya know. He was the greatest Pirate I've ever seen, and a good teacher too. He died when I was a teenager...Messy bar fight that was. After that I inherited his ship, and what was left of his crew. His crew didn't care for me, no respect at all. That is one thing I like lad, respect. I'm the head of this ship and I aim to show it. Most of the crew jumped ship when they found out I was their new Cap'n, saying that it was bad luck to have a female on board let alone be a Cap'n.

But those who stayed were shown that I can be a damn good Cap'n. I have a bad temper, and they didn't know how much me family means to me. First thing I did was get some revenge on Da. Those scurvy dogs didn't know what hit them. We raided their ship good and didn't leave none to tell the tale about it. After that I've been doing it ever since. Raiding ships, finding lots of good things, and stickin' close to me mates. Love them shinny trinkets and about me crew... loyalty is everything my dear.

Whats that lad? Relations? Something about my trinkets? Boy you're a strange one, I'll give you that. One at a time with these questions.

About the trinkets, well, there ain't nothin' wrong with being sentimental. I can be sentimental with some things, but not a whole lot. Family, and these here beads that belong to Ma....And, well...Me hat. I ain't going nowhere without my hat, ya hear? This hear hat is another thing I got from Da, however it wasn't nothin' inherited like the ship. It was a birthday gift when I was a wee little thing. It's ripped on the edges, and maybe a bit worn. But it's a good ol' charm of mine, and it's kept me safe so far.

Now about relations...Or relationships as you call. Well, hehe, is any male who might be interested in me has to be quite brave, and not someone to stab me in the back (literally or figuratively). I tend to be a bit of a man hater with how I act. My orientation is straight, but men get on me nerves. I have yet to find anyone interested in me, I might have scared him off or killed him for all I know. He also has to be able to stand me for more then two seconds, and might want to settle down someday, if I don't get killed first. Yes, I plan to settle down someday (but not anytime soon). Might have kids too, who knows?

      short story;;
"Get in the boat matey! We don't have all day. We have to be back by dusk, not next week!"

"Sorry Cap'n, just making sure everything was okay."

Captain Summer Paradise rolled her eyes as she waited for her first mate, Cutter, to jump into the longboat before giving her splinter crew the cue to start rowing to the docks. Cutter might have been slow today but she trusted him on getting the job done. Today was a good day. Bright, sunny, and with the wind at the Kiamara's back. A perfect day to her, even if she had to spend it on land. She and a small part of her crew were heading to a small port, to resupply on food and necessities, and to take care of some business as well. Her ship, the Drunkin' Rat, was still in the water a bit away from the dock. Lately they were having trouble with authorities so they stayed clear to go at least somewhat unnoticed. The Drunkin's Rat was a pirate ship after all, trouble might as well have been their middle name. But, every now and again, they always had to go shopping when running low on things. "Cutter..." Para finally broke the silence as they reached the docks, they were close enough to hop onto the dock once the boat was tied secure. "I want you to make sure we have a good shipment of fresh apples, ya hear? No bad ones to ruin the whole lot of them." Cutter let out a grunt as answer while she jumped onto the dock. She could always count on him.

With a quick adjustment on her hat she dashed away down the dirty cobblestone street. Time to take care of some unfinished business, or to have a little fun. She shrugged her shoulders as she walked with this thought, she wasn't sure what the day would turn up for her. She had a few minutes to spare. This thankfully wasn't unfamiliar territory for Para, she had been to this port several time in the past. The crowds, smells, filth...She was used to it all. And even though she has a tight scheduled, some habits were able to slip. Some fun for her, while misfortune for others. All it took was one little bump into someone. "Oh I'm so sorry sir, forgive me clumsiness!" She said in exaggeration, slipping her paw into the man's back pocket to rob him while he recovered from the fall. Poor soul, he didn't even notice the act. And by the time the man was on his feet she was long gone. Crowds were good for that. Paradise tossed her new coin pouch in her paw as she went down a ally. "All in a days work." She thought to herself with a sly grin. She guessed it had around 10 gold coins in it based on the weight, but she stopped her thoughts when something caught her eye.

At the street the ally came out of, on the dirt encrust wall was a poster. A wall of posters, mostly announcements and news around the town. But there also many wanted posters, which was what caught her eye. One had a picture of her, that read above and below:
      WANTED
Dead or Alive for piracy, murder, theft, arson...
      "Captain Summer Paradise"
      Reward: 200 gold

"Aw hell..." Summer Paradise mumbled to herself, pulling her hat lower instinctively. She didn't remember setting any place on fire recently, and she was inwardly a little hurt at the arson part. She also was down about how low her bounty was. "Thought for sure it would be higher." Thankfully the poster was not in color, and only had a head-shot without her normal accessories. Para glanced around quickly, making sure nobody took notice of her before making her way back to her original destination: Winking Unicorn Tavern. Her business was there, and not for the rum (despite it being pretty damn good). She was going there for a map translation.

It wasn't too far off, after a few minutes of brisk trotting did she arrive at the travern's doorstep. Before entering she couldn't resist and stop for a moment, to look up at the tavern's sign. Gosh, Para hated that creepy winking unicorn sign. Bug buck teeth sticking out and bullet holes where the eyes used to be. The Winking Unicorn was older then she was, but no matter how many shot were fired at the sign, it always stayed up. With the signed eyeless gaze on her, Paradise entered into the shady tavern. It was dark, dingy...and smelled funny too. Just like home. She calmly walked straight to the bar, eying a few people on her way. Drunks, soldiers on leave, even a few pirates (that didn't recognize her). Nothing new, nothing to get nervous about, which was a relief to her. Today wasn't a kind of day to start trouble.

"Bartender!" She said while leaning against the bar, not bothering to sit down. The man was a new bartender "I'd like like the Paradise special please."

It wasn't a actually drink, at least not that she knew of. It was a code for her to talk to the owner, her translator. He normally was in the back of the place, but nobody could just walk into his chambers. It took her months to work the meeting out, and acquire such a simple code. He had a tendency to change his entrance codes with every meeting and every person.

"Uh, we don't have anything like that Ma'am." The bartender replied loudly. Crap! This must have been a really new guy. A few people behind Para began to stir, some were even listening. The Kiamara stared down the bartender for a second, hoping he wasn't too thick to get the meaning of her request. She spoke to him quietly, but this time more slowly in hopes of getting the point straight. "I would like a Paradise Special please. I'm sure the owner of this establishment knows this drink."

"Ma'am I don't know what you're talking about." The bartender replied, staring the the group of people that where making their way behind Summer Paradise. This can't be good. She thought to herself, glancing at the grouping coming ever so closely. "HEY!" One of the men yelled behind her, a hot puff of alcohol filled breath blew at the back of her mane. She didn't have to look to see just how drunk this man and his buddies were. She reached for the nearest bottle of rum over the counter as the drunk came a inch away from her face. He smell like he had been rolling in a mix of old rum and road-kill.

      "Wat you's been...*hic* talker'n abouts...Para-paradise...."

"None of your concern." Summer Paradise said with a growl, staring at the group face to face. She hated dealing with anyone this drunk, and her patience was wearing thin with everyone now. "I suggest you go back to your drink." The Kiamara now had a rum bottle behind her back, ready to be swung if the man caused anymore trouble. "Der hell with the drinth...You can go back to the kitchen wo-" He never had the change to finish his speech, with a quick swing the rum bottle landed over his head and he was down for the count. However his friends were still standing, and the swing of a bottle caused the enter tavern to go into a uproar. With her heart racing and adrenaline pumping, Paradise loved it. It was exhilarating - fun for her. She jumped head first into the fight. Para quickly had to duck, weave while trying to beat her way through the crowd. Too hard not to miss, but it was the same for her opponents as well. One swing gave her a bloody nose, and another knocked the wind out of her lungs. Nothing to knock her lights out, but enough to hurt like hell. To say the least her fun didn't last long. Too many people, she had to get out while the authorities were starting to pile in through the front door to break up the bar fight. Party time was over, she her to move her tail before getting caught.

With a few extra shoves, Summer Paradise managed to barely squeeze out of a back door. Thankfully the authorities hadn't found this door, yet. "Always when I go to town." She mumbled while heading back as quickly as she could to her boats. She wondered to herself is any ribs were broken from that one blow she took to the gut, but she shook off the thoughts. Not now, it could wait. Cutter and her crew had just gotten done loading the last bag of food by the time she got to her long boat. Her first mate gave her a bored look when he saw the blood stained on her fur. "How did it go?" He asked blandly, taking her paw and she stepped into the long boat.

"We'll have to go for plan B, Cutter."

"Very well, need a quick departure, Cap'n?"

"Aye, we'll set sails as soon as your feet his the deck." She said, feeling a fresh breeze on her face. Good, the wind was on her side today. She tugged at her lucky hat one last time as she left the strong rowing against the water. Time to get back home, to the Drunkin' Rat. Time to get back to sea and see what adventure would bring her and the crew. Whatever was ahead she was ready to meet it face to face.

      Theme Song:
      Entre Dos Aguas

      Quirks:
      • Para has trouble wording some words, mostly things that end with "ing". it's just how she was raise, both her parents spoke that way. She always tends to say 'me' rather then 'my', 'Cap'n' rather then 'Captain', 'Da' rather then 'Dad'. And so on...

      • She loves shiny things - coins, gems, and beads mostly. She owns a small chest she keeps in her home on land that has a small coin collection of different kinds in it. She also wears several strands of beads and coins on her hat.

      Questions and Answers:
Alright I won't waste your time, just a few questions, if you don't mind.
Q: What is one drawback of being out to sea for so long?
A: "The lack of fresh water. Also the salt from the sea water will make your fur itch like mad."
Q: What is your favorite color?
A:"Blue, around the same blue on me feathers."
Q:What is the best days for you?
A:"A nice warm day with the sun shining and breeze blowing. Perfect sailings me boy. "
Q:Will you ever take the hat off...?
A:"Hell no! Okay well the hat might come off every now and again, but I always wear a bandanna under it."
Q: Are those markings or tattoos?
A:"That is for me to know and you to never find out."
Q: Okay, one last question. I challenge you to a drinking contest!
A: "Hell yes! I like you already. Bring out the rum, it's time for me to show you who is the top dog on this ship."

So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path
