Story:
[center]The sky was dark, and foreboding, crying down upon the sad Earth below. It was as if the world looked as I felt. Depression was sinking into the very depth of me, and I hadn't a clue what to do with myself now. I've lost everything; my family, my friends, my love... Nothing was left for me to do now but leave.
I walked further down the cracked asphalt road leading further up into the mountains. I peered at the ever darkening sky as the rain crashed down harder and harder. I sighed, and felt the tears start to fall from my own eyes. I ran for cover in a small patch of trees that looked like they were on their last legs. I sat in the mud, and clutched to myself, attempting to hold what little warmth was left inside me. I had run away so quickly, I had forgotten to bring a jacket. I should have known with my luck it would have rained. "Hey, at least it's not snowing!" I snorted to myself.
Suddenly, the air became frigid. I peered up and watched as the rain turned from water, to an ice-liquid mixture, to snow. I cried out in frustration, striking a tree beside me. I heard a small squeal, which caught me off guard. I jolted up, and looked at the tree I had made a dent in. There, clinging to the tree, was a little white bird thingy.
Examining it further, without going closer, it seemed to not even be a bird! Well, it was feathered...with wings.. but, it's body seemed to morph into that of a snake's tail, topping the end of it with a small orb. Decorating it's delicate body were fabulous, bright, lovely colors. Just looking at the beautiful creature brought new warmth to me, happiness... hope.. the feeling i thought was permanently gone. The snow slowly subsided, and the sun shattered the thick wall of clouds. The creature peered at me for a moment longer before wiggling off the branch, and soaring through the air, higher and higher into the sky.
Finally, when my eyes could no longer see the small bird, I noticed the colors that began to cross the sky. A rainbow...
