Story of how you found him/her:
I could never understand why any rabbit would choose to live near a house full of cats.
My neighbor had about thirty of the lovely creatures. And there would always be rabbits around our yards; we lived in the country. And every spring, there would also be screams of baby rabbits when the young cats who didn't yet know how to kill their prey quick enough went hunting.
Normally, that didn't pose a problem. But now I wanted a garden. And there was no way I'd let those cute, thieving beggars eat my crops. So the rabbits were the reason for my getting up at five in the morning to drive to the store.
The weather was absolutely miserable. However, when I finally got to the store, I noticed a huge commotion in the parking lot.
I checked it out. To my shock, a few men were crouching over a little scrap of fluff.
"What happened?" My voice sounded shrill and thin in the morning air. One of the men, a big burly fellow who was handling the animal with shocking gentleness, looked up.
"Some bloody murderer- Begging your pardon, miss." he added quickly, giving me an apologetic look before continuing. "Was tormenting the critter. Found it shying around the parking and started throwing stones at it and yelling at it. It's againt the law, miss, and belike t'e fellow was drunk- still, he ran off quick as good when he's a-saw us." He looked back to the baby. "But he le't t'e little one. And we're mighty worried about it."
I gazed at the poor baby. I felt furious that any person would be so malicious to do something so cruel for fun, but my worry for the babe won over.
"Is it a Sora Neko?" I asked, softening.
"Ai, a real one. And a mea holowa'a to boot." Answered a different man.
I smiled quickly, then knelt down to stroke the Neko. "I think he'll be okay."
"You do, miss? " The first speaker asked, sounding relieved. "Tha's good. I'd take him with me, but Ferdinand's not very fr'endly, and I don want to stress him."
Another nodded. "My little son has a fur allergy." he said mournfully, gazing down at the feline. The first one turned to the last one. "What about you, Terson?"
But the man shook his head. "The apartment's too small, and so is my free time."
"I'll take him." I announced. "I've got a big home in the country, and no family. I have a bit of experience with Nekos, and my friend works at a shelter and is a vet and expert on Sora Nekos. And I also already have one; my little Akamai will be thankful for the company."
The men looked at each other. The first one reluctantly handed me the little boy. "I guess that's good. Will you take care of him?"
"I will." I said firmly. "I promise you, he'll lack for nothing. Look, here's my address and phone number, if any of you want to check on him." I told them quickly getting out a piece of paper and scrawling the information on it.
On the way back home, I wondered over the fact of the men's kindness and the stranger's cruelty. About how I come to buy a protector for my garden, and I received a protector for my heart. And perhaps my garden as well, I added silently, smiling to myself.
I glanced at the little babe. He wasn't that young, actually, but he was scrawny and underfed. I had already dubbed him Soleil, which meant 'Sun'. When I told Veronica about him, she demanded me to add 'La' to his name, which also meant 'sun', only in Hawaiian. Right now, my little sun was curled up on the passenger seat, wrapped in a quickly bought blanket.
He certainly was a mea holowa'a. Only a truly tough individual could get out of a scrape like his barely injured. I had driven quickly to Veronica to check him. She had informed me that except for a few scrapes, LaSoleil was unhurt in the most part, but severely malnourished.
I smiled, and rubbed his head with my finger. He gave a half meow half squeak, and then lifted his head to lick my finger.
I laughed.
What will you do with her if you win her:
Draw him immediately, and start counting down the days to the next full moon, so that he could become a patriarch. I'd also start looking to place him into a rp.
