Story of how you found him/her:
The little kit squirmed in my arms. I closed my eyes slowly, half-expecting it to disappear when I opened them.
I opened my eyes. Nope, no dream. The little furry body remained tucked in my arms, it's thinly fur-covered skin expanding and contracting visibly with each breath. The baby animal opened it's tiny mouth and gave out a noiseless cry.
"Well? Aren't you going to feed her?" Veronica demanded, pushing a milk-filled baby-bottle into my hands. I tried to grab it without disturbing the little critter in the crook of my arm.
My heart was pounding. "Are you certain that I, I can have i- her?" I had to force myself to say 'her'. So this fluff of fur was female.
"Well, duh." she snapped, turning around to bend over her desk, looking for something among the piles of paperwork covering it's surface. "I mean, where's she supposed to go?"
"I . . . I don't know." I hadn't actually thought about it; but surely there would be thousands of people who'd want the tiny cutie I held in my arms? I said as much to her. "There are hundreds of people who would die for a chance to own a Sora Neko. Why me?"
"Why not?" she exclaimed, throwing the papers she had just found into the air in a gesture of exasperation. "There might be even millions of people wanting a Sora Neko, but I don't know any of them. I do know you, though."
I smiled. "Mahalo." I told her, gently pulling the bottle away from the little Neko who was busily draining it.
Veronica smiled back at me, gathering up her papers. "Will you name the little one some Hawaiian word?"
I laughed. "Probably. Very likely." I stroked my neko's fur. "I was thinking about maybe Akamai or Pomaika'i. They mean intelligent and good fortune. Or Punahele. That means favorite. Or even Lanakila or Pipi."
"What do those mean?" she asked curiously.
I laughed out loud. "Pipi means cow, but it sounds nice." I smiled fondly. "Lanakila means to have victory."
Veronica smirked. "Good names. Except for Pipi."
I nodded. "I think she's be my little pomaika'i, but I'm naming her Akamai."
What will you do with her if you win her:
Draw her, and maybe create a little story for her. My main goal will be of course to have her become a matriarch. I'll also join any Sora Neko rp with her.
Congratulations you have won the first ever Sora Neko ^_^
I just wanted to say thank you all for your entries, they were all so wonderful to read and I really hope you try to win future Sora Nekos, as I enjoyed reading all of your entries. I picked this one solely because it just felt like I was stepping into a story, something quite original, the decision was still a hard one though as there were some beautiful stories written.
