Sora Neko #1

Postby Mihochi » Wed Feb 27, 2013 6:34 am

Sora nekos are what all of the felines of the world originate from, they are an ancient species, only recently discovered. They are much like the felines of today except that they defy the laws of science, like they can fly and unnatural phenomenon seem to happen around them, some classing it as 'magic'.

Story of how you found him/her:
The little kit squirmed in my arms. I closed my eyes slowly, half-expecting it to disappear when I opened them.
I opened my eyes. Nope, no dream. The little furry body remained tucked in my arms, it's thinly fur-covered skin expanding and contracting visibly with each breath. The baby animal opened it's tiny mouth and gave out a noiseless cry.

"Well? Aren't you going to feed her?" Veronica demanded, pushing a milk-filled baby-bottle into my hands. I tried to grab it without disturbing the little critter in the crook of my arm.

My heart was pounding. "Are you certain that I, I can have i- her?" I had to force myself to say 'her'. So this fluff of fur was female.

"Well, duh." she snapped, turning around to bend over her desk, looking for something among the piles of paperwork covering it's surface. "I mean, where's she supposed to go?"

"I . . . I don't know." I hadn't actually thought about it; but surely there would be thousands of people who'd want the tiny cutie I held in my arms? I said as much to her. "There are hundreds of people who would die for a chance to own a Sora Neko. Why me?"

"Why not?" she exclaimed, throwing the papers she had just found into the air in a gesture of exasperation. "There might be even millions of people wanting a Sora Neko, but I don't know any of them. I do know you, though."

I smiled. "Mahalo." I told her, gently pulling the bottle away from the little Neko who was busily draining it.

Veronica smiled back at me, gathering up her papers. "Will you name the little one some Hawaiian word?"

I laughed. "Probably. Very likely." I stroked my neko's fur. "I was thinking about maybe Akamai or Pomaika'i. They mean intelligent and good fortune. Or Punahele. That means favorite. Or even Lanakila or Pipi."

"What do those mean?" she asked curiously.

I laughed out loud. "Pipi means cow, but it sounds nice." I smiled fondly. "Lanakila means to have victory."

Veronica smirked. "Good names. Except for Pipi."

I nodded. "I think she's be my little pomaika'i, but I'm naming her Akamai."

What will you do with her if you win her:

Draw her, and maybe create a little story for her. My main goal will be of course to have her become a matriarch. I'll also join any Sora Neko rp with her.

•Name: Eregin

•Name pronunciation: Air-ee-gin

•Gender: Male

•Age: In human years, twenty four.

•Story of how you found him: I was walking down the streets of CA when I saw a small path leading into the jungle. I looked around, making sure no one saw me sneak in, and I waddled down the steep path. I noticed several animals heading in the same direction, so I followed them. Soon, I split up with them and lost myself in the deep clutter of trees. Thats when I heard a small whimper. I spun around and saw a tiny little kitten-looking animal with an orb by its tail. Dumbfounded, I reached for the small creature, which at the time, was stuck under a fallen tree. It cowered back and soon, it began to trust me. I shook the tree off and picked it up before heading home.

That night, I curled up on the sofa and fed the little kitten some milk from a bottle. The kitten squirmed in my arms as I chuckled and softly smiled. My mother walked in with a warm washcloth and more warm milk.

"How is the kitten?" She asked, wrapping the Neko in the cloth. She kissed the top of his head,

"Just fine," I replied before pressing the bottle to Eregin's lips. I leaned over to my mother's arms as we all curled up together as a family.

•What will you do with him if you win him: I'd love on my little Eregin and give him art and maybe I can put him in some Sora Neko role-plays if we get any c:

Name: Torbie

Gender: female

Age: 3 years

Story of how you found him/her: I was riding a long-legged chestnut stallion through a field one day, when out of the sky dropped a young, furry - thing. It had a broken leg, and was making piteous "meep" noises. I scooped it up and carried it home, leading the horse behind me. Over time, I came to know that the creature's name was Torbie, and that she could fly.

What will you do with her if you win her: I honestly have never won an adoptable before, but I'll probably make art of her and write more short stories about her.

Story of how you found him/her: Well, I was wondering through my farm, going off to feed my other pets, and wow, what's that on the grass? I walk in closer, and I saw a stunning tortiseshell and white cat! I quickly look for a name tag, or microchip for adoption, but there isn't. I decided to keep her, and name the beauty.

username ;;
mihochi, seriously, if you don't know me by now, I'm going to scream. >:U XD seriously, though, I'd be a little hurt.
...
okay, not VERY hurt, but...you get the point.
well, if it hasn't changed in the first five seconds it took to read that, then it's probably still Deadman's Charade. c: please, I insist you call me Chey.

why do i want her? ;;
okay, i'm not trying to win you over with a sob story. really. i'm not. but last week, my beloved cat, Shelbi, died of diabetes and lung complications.
...strange, right? i didn't even know cats could get diabetes. but, she did, and she died because of it.
Shelbi was a tortoiseshell coloured-cat, and i'm not even going to lie, this reminded me so much of her that i teared up a bit. i'm in a livestream, currently, and i literally shouted at Pooka and ~*Reeses*~, "MINE. NO YOU TOUCH."
i loved that cat dearly. she was the babysitter cat who watched over me while i sleep. whether she was thinking, "what the heck is this thing" or "i wonder if i can kill it," i love her till death do we part, and since death has us parted, i will give anything to get her back.
even if it means getting a character that reminds me of her.

what will i do for her? ;;
host another LS tomorrow and stream myself drawing some art of her. i'll also order art of her, write stories, poems, write a song, perhaps, and make her a little something special: a plushy. i'll do anything i can to show you that i'll love her, and i'll even break dance on top of a roof to show you my love for this character.
seriously. you think i'm kidding.
i seriously will.
just you watch me.

what will i do if i win her? ;;
So excited! Getting my first Kiamara in a month because of train. and .Blue.'s breeding!!! <333

Name:
Minerva

Gender:
Female

Age:
Five and a half human years of age.

Story of how you found him/her:
A shake of a compass, a turn of the map, the day wasn't exactly going as planned. The Appalachian Mountain trail wasn't forgiving, but my efforts were rewarded in a way at the end.

"Come on, please don't break on me now." I mumbled, shaking the compass one last time. I was crouched on a large bolder, trying to get the dang thing to work. I was halfway to one out of the way stop and my only means of getting there without loosing my way completely had died on me, as odd as it sounded. I knew dropping it in a creek a hour ago wasn't such a good idea. If I had a GPS I would have been fine, but I was doing this on a bet with a friend, and I knew at the end I would be the one forking over the cash.

With a sigh, I put the broken compass back into my backpack and looked around. It was a cold, crisp autumn day. The trees were bright is autumn colors, and the thoughts of the bet went away. Screw the bet, I thought to myself. I had always been a nature and hiking nut, and I wished I had came here sooner. I got to my feet and took off the backpack, I wanted to get my camera so I could take some pictures of what was around me, and the heavy backpack was hurting my back.

With camera in hand I walked a few paces away from the backpack and bent down to take a picture of some leaves. I never did get that picture, because right before I pushed the button to take it something smacked into the back of my head. "OUCH!" I yelled, picking up what had it me. A acorn. Still hurt, despite it being small. I looked up at the trees above me, expecting to see at least a few squirrels climbing around. But what I found was something very unexpected.

It was a cat, or so I thought at first. She was laying across a tree limb looking down at me, curious and amused looking. "Um, hello." I said, looking at the strange cat and wondering where it came from. I could see orbs near it's tail, cratered and protected my it's owner. This wasn't a normal stray, it was something much different. The Neko let out a small "Mew" and hopped into a different branch, out of sight. Not really knowing what just happened, I turned around to pick up my backpack that was back at the bolder.

When I picked up the backpack, I didn't noticed that it was a bit heaver then before, or the fact that there was a space open on the top. For the rest of the day I continued hiking, and didn't come back home til almost midnight. By the time I came home, I gently placed the backpack on the couch and sat down next to it. Before I could even rest my tired eyes, I hear a familiar "mew", and quickly, before I could move my head up to see where it came from, I have a little Sora Neko sitting in my lap, purring wildly as it looked at me. The same one who threw acorns at my head.

I sat there, not wanting to move a inch. For a moment I thought it was a hallucination, something my mind made up due to the lack of sleep. But it wasn't the weight in my lap was real, the purring was real. Everything was real. I slowly reached out to the cat, and it allowed me to scratch it behind it's black ear. It was friendly, to say the least. I smiled as it started to rub against my hand, purring even more. "I'm not sure how you found me, but I'm happy and you're welcome here."

I named her Minerva, goddess of wisdom. And she had been wish me ever since.

What will you do with her if you win her:
Art, and lots of it. I love drawing, and this beautiful Neko would be wonderful for drawing. Sketches, group shots, everything.c:
So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path
