Are a fox like creature inhabiting eastern China. They're an exceptionally small bred, averagely ranging in weight 20-35 pounds. (Resembling a cocker spaniel in size) The foxes are an agile race, quick on their feet and quick to reach exceeding speeds. They're swift movements are limited to they're energy; Guardians exhaust easy, and the creatures take necessary precautions when romping. Being omnivores they're capable of devouring a large variety of plant and animal matter. (Grass, fruits, rodents, fish, eggs, etc.) They're eating habits; identical to that of an average fox often bury they're food for later consumption. They're companions, (Fairy like creatures shown above) have an unknown origin. Each Guardian grew up with such creature; the small friend significantly is never known to leave said foxes side, or at least permanently. They are a considerably social species and is usually found in packs of four to six.

    Fairy Size: Medium
    Guardian Size: Average

So yup there's my first Guardian, hope it's up to par with the rest blah.
I got lazy towards the end :'D. The end date is February 2nd.

Guardian Name: kyra
Gender:Female
Short Story:As the sun rose the guardian's awake. And deep in the most beautiful forest in a den below the ground, a small young Guardian woke late again. Kyra lifted her head and sniffed the air. She made a small nuzzling sound before she got up. Kyra then scrambled out of the den and into the big wide world.

Kyra yawned lightly and stretched her limbs. She looked up at the shinning bright sun; she blinked a few times and then looked back down. The small Guardian then ran around stupidly chasing a butterfly. She snapped her jaw trying to eat it but failed and landed on her nose. She panted out of breath and huffed.

As she tried to get up, she was stepped on by an older strong and bigger guardian. Kyra yelped as her small tail was trodden on. The bigger guardian laughed and grinned calling her weak and small. Kyra closed her eyes and let her anger boil with in herself.

She opened her eye and by some sort of miracle, Kyra shoved the big brute off of her tail and pounced onto his. She growled and yapped. Kyra was about to hurt the brute like he hurt her. The brute had a dangerous evil look in his eye. She whimpered by kept herself strong. She readied herself again for her attack.

As Kyra was about to attack him, she felt petty and sadness towards the brute, this brute took this chance and pounded on her. She fell to the floor and the brute pounced on her trapping and holding the young Guardian’s paws down. She whimpered and the bigger strong male Guardian snapped his powerful jaws. Kyra looked up into the clouds above her and prayed for her life to be speared.

The suddenly as the brute was about to calm his large and painful looking jaws around her neck, Kyra’s small and glowing friend arrived. The companion fairy like creature glowed brightly and, the brute watched, Frightened by the light -as he had never had his own companion- He jumped off of the pinned down Kyra and ran away.
Kyra got up lowly and thanked her glowing friend. She blushed lightly as it started to buzz around her head. She yapped and played. They chased and played together for the rest of the day. As the day grew into dusk, the fairy-like creature helps Kyra back into her den; she smiled and snuggled up with Kyra. They fell soundly asleep and waited until another day dawned…

La fin.

Guardian Name: Dawn

Gender: Female

Short Story:

I stretched, slowly willing my tired body out of bed. Most morning I grudgingly get up, eat some very awful cereal (I can't afford much, as my tiny slum flat located in Manzhouli is already breaking the bank) and go to the market across the street. My mundane daily adventures include running into language barriers and struggling to understand the various number of traditions that people here practice. Perhaps you are wondering why I live in Mongolia. The answer is simple. I live here for today, because today I'm going to explore the exotic veldt grasslands outside of the city limits.

Today, I hope to find a Guardian.

With an extra spring in my step, I began on a journey unlike any other. So why am I searching for a Guardian here and not some other region in Eastern China? Why go out so far, where the chances of actually finding a Guardian are slim to none? I have been desperatly searching for the elusive Diluculo Custodis Vulpes - or Dawn Guardian Fox. (That is the closest latin name that has been created conserning these rarely seen creatures.) They have only been spotted in the grassland areas of Mongolia. It's unclear as to why this is, but I aim to discover all there is to know about these amazing creatures.

After a long journey to the heart of the grassland environment, I "set up shop" for the night and pitched a tent under a tree. The next day I awoke with a jolt to the horrifying sound of growling, just outside my tent. I recongnised the sound immediately as the territorial growl and barks of an angry Guardian. Guardians are known for being calm, quiet, kind and peaceful creatures, but I had obviously infringed on the snarling thing's territory - or maybe (in my idiocy) had even managed to pitched my tent on it's burrow.

I was trapped for a few hours, unsure of how to handle the situation. If it was in fact a Guardian, I knew two things; that if it decided to attack I not have a suitable weapon to defend myself and that I wouldn't harm the creature no matter the cost to myself.
Slowly, I remebered having stashed some dried fruit in my coat pocket! Knowing that Guardians love fruit, I threw some out of the tent door. I heard the animal scamper around outside, and eat the fruit. After I was sure that it had settled down, I opened the door fully and took a look at my tiny furry oppresser. It was none other than Dawn Guardian itself, the very creature I had waited to see!

A few weeks later after having fed the creature daily, we soon became trusting friends. Dawn hasn't left me ever since, and I will never leave her.

This is 470 words... Is that okay? I got a little carried away! :P
Please feel free to call me Aure or Aurora.
Thank you Neelix and SplashofOrangeJuice for the lovely art of my JBD Summer and Pocketmouse for this art here!

Guardian Name: Labola

Gender: Male

Short Story: The dawn sun shines close to the ground, just peeking out from behind the mountains. It casts a small reflection on the lake as I look out at it. I have my boots on. Their soft, carmel brown fabric is thick and protective; it comforts me as I rub it. For today is not just any day, it is The Day of the Shining Sun.

The Day of the Shining Sun happens but once every few years, the date is unknown usually up until a week or two before it occurs, because The Day of the Shining Sun occurs because an elder of our village’s word. It is a very special day in my village, we all celebrate the happiness and life the sun has brought us, and on these days; Guardians are sacred.

My parents have been busy again; baking sticky pastries all day in preparation. My job is to find a Guardian for our family. I am an only child, and since my parents are busy, the duty has been given to me this year.

I glance at the lake one last time before rising to my feet, adjusting my hat and backpack, then turning on my heel to scour the grasses for a Guardian. I’d been on these hunts before, but this was my first time alone on a hunt. I knew how to do this, soft footsteps, careful eye, trained ear–all of these were major parts of finding a Guardian.

I’d been searching for about ten minutes when I heard some rustling leaves a few feet away. I immediately stopped in my tracks–frozen in place. Another few seconds and the rustling continued, this time closer. Then a shape appeared from the tall grass. He looked like the reflection the sun had on the lake, with eyes blue as the sky. He had a thin tail, and his fur blended into itself, oranges and purples, yellows and pinks, and even the creamy color of his paws and collar. He was beautiful, and for a moment he stood there, staring back at her, his fairy wavering just above his head. The Guardian seemed interested in her–it sat down carefully. He even let her get close to him. And that was when he would be theirs’. Her family’s.

She looked back at him, nodded her head, then walked off. He followed after her...

My story is 397 words, by the way :D I used all the space I could.

I come onto CS maybe once in a blue moon? So don't expect fast replies.
Pretty inactive nowadays as travelling the world keeps me pretty busy, but I'm here now and again for a yarn or even if you want a few pets? Feel free to make a one sided offer, although I retain my right to refuse or edit a trade if there is something I'd want to hold on to for memories sake.
WME herd.
Feel free to PM me if you're interested in adopting one.

Guardian Name: Nova Heartflame
Gender: female
Short Story: The nameless guardian sat in the dust. A heavy chain sat around her neck, a collar that weighed her to the ground. The iron burned. The humans around her were asleep and stank of sweat and blood. They knew just how much money a guardian would fetch on the market, oh yes. She whimpered softly as her fairy lighted down on her dusty head. The guardian tossed her head, ruffling her fur and trying to sleep before dawn came. The sun teased its way up anyways.
The burning orb that was the sun had only just danced above the horizon when the leader of the bandits stalked out of his tent, shouting orders at the humans. The guardian ignored it dully. Nothing would matter in the end, she knew, so why expend the energy to listen. A man jerked on her chain and the guardian staggered to her feet, blinking sleep out of her eyes. They would reach the city today. Her fairy, barely visible in the dim light, buzzed cheerfully. The nameless guardian trudged onward.

Noon. The line had stopped moving. The man holding her chain cringed as a man in robes approached the guardian. "Give that to me. I have paid with your master." The man's sneering voice seemed like a snake, hissing between venomous fangs. For some reason, the guardian felt a terrible need inside of her like a dragon uncoil itself and begin to grow. This snake-man. The guardian felt only one sentiment at all: hatred. A burning flame of anger rose up inside of her as the dragon grew but the guardian managed to restrain it. The man took her chain, twiddling it between bony fingers, and led her into a tent. More precisely, into a wooden cage. The nameless guardian growled as she was dragged inside and locked in but still left it alone. The snake-man left the tent.

It was dusk, the man finally coming back inside again, licking his lips. The dragon tensed and leaped. The guardian felt a white-hot supernova of fury overpowering her and lunged. The cage broke like dry kindling. The guardian crouched inside, eyes narrowed. The man saw what had happened, eyes widening, and lunged for her but the guardian moved away, swiping at the cage next to her and breaking it apart. The animal locked inside it went wild and began to destroy the other cages. The guardian raced outside before the tent threatened to collapse, fairy following behind like a firefly in the night, brighter every second.
Where the guardian's new found energy or hatred had come from she had no idea but still she darted between tents and fires, running for the wild. At last the guardian stopped and fell asleep in a gutter. Her last thought before drifting off on a sea of unconciouscness was this: I am Nova. I am the Heartflame.

After a few days, Nova found her way out of the city and met a pack of guardians. This is where she began her new life. This is where her life began.
