The Reason?: Corinth is smart because of his mother. He didn't use to be smart, in fact he was one of the dumbest Taigas ever. But, his mother wanted him to learn, so she taught him everything she knew, and he grew up learning more and more. He learns from his mistakes, and from his friends.

The Reason?:
He grew up without parents, so he had to learn to survive from a very young age. The fight to live was what made his mind sharp, and he learned most of what he knows through trial and error. In the beginning, though, learning was a necessity; he'd either learn or die. As he got older, it became more of a hobby, something to keep his mind focused on anything other than the loneliness. Now he enjoys exploring and finding new experiences as a way of life, and doesn't seem to mind his lack of social interaction. ((Quick explanation, will try and add some art <3))

The Reason?: When Babar was young, he had an older, grizzled Taiga that would tell him stories and advice. When he was just a colt, the elder one told him a tale about a colt who became the smartest one by plucking a raven's feather during the first flurry of the new year. Babar was enchanted with this story, and that night, the last night of the old season, snuck out. He walked along as a flurry began, and, spotting a raven, crept up to it, and successfully stole a feather- to spend the rest of the night evading its pecks and screeches.
There's alot to say about belief, and the belief in a tale led Babar to go in quest of knowledge and wisdom- he was always a smart colt, it just took belief in a feather to draw out that wisdom.
