Story:
The larger creature loomed over me as I stared up into it's mysterious blue eyes. It stared intently back at me, as if curious about my intentions, yet to hesitant to make the first move. I slowly extended my hand out a bit closer to it's beak, praying silently that I would still have both hands and all fingers intact after this encounter. I assumed it was a she, given it's calm stance and graceful form, and softly whispered, "It's okay, girl... I won't hurt you. Promise." She studied me this time with some form of doubt. I watched carefully, my hand trembling with uncertainty, ready to pull back if she showed any signs of hostility. However, she did not. She made a sort of cooing noise. It was soft and comforting, yet slightly sad, as if telling a story of woe. I listened carefully, and the large beast stepped forward, and gently touched my hand with the tip of her beak. I strained to keep my hand still, not quite sure if this was some kind of trick or not. However, one more longing look into her eyes told me I had gained her trust.
That day, I rode home. On the back of this magnificent creature. It was amazing! The world was portrayed in so many new colors a new form of majesty, each seemingly enhanced with every blink. The soft, silent wing beats of my new friend, -- Naomi, I had decided to call her -- Seemed to just make the experience even more magical, impossible, breathtaking... Life would be quite the exciting adventure on the back of this beautiful slate blue creature. Naomi, the Owl Guardian.
