Name your Ferret: Torrent
Gender: Female
Personality: Torrent is kind and sensitive. She is avoident of responsibility and work, mostly because she is just too busy daydreaming. She seems to always "have her head in the clouds" when she is actually supposed to be doing something important; ie making it rain. Others seem to forgive her for her frequent mistakes, because she really is very nice. She never passes the blame whether she did something wrong, or not. She thrives on being around other Ferrets, unfortunately she is alone during most of her rain expeditions.
Job within the brood (be descriptive): Well, my job is to water all of the flowers! *giggle* Seriously! The Head of Flutter Ferret Weather Determination tells me when to make the rain come, and I produce! I can conjure water from the clouds, some IFFs have this gift, and don't even know it! There are 6 other IFFs in my department, we call ourselves the "Rain Gang", I do t see them often, we're all sent to different areas to produce rain. I just think real hard an kind of scrunch my nose up, then it starts to rain! I like my job because there's a lot of flying involved, and I can spend time thinking about boy ferrets, the future, the past, or whatever I want! I often think about meeting a Furry Flutter Ferret Prince who will take me away to his Ferretity Throne... *tee hee* Hey a gal can dream right?
Story about this Ferret/Art:This is the story of how Torrent of the Northern Brood caused a water shortage throughout the land. It was a normal day for the Flutter Ferret Weather Determination office; a new set of trainees have been given mentors and done the appropriate paperwork to start their jobs. Torrent started with 4 other trainees, her best friend ferret Hurri was picked to go to the Extreem Weather Division and Two more for the Sun Department, and one other for the department she was starting in the "Rain Gang". Torrent wasn't exactly excited about being chosen for the Dept. responsible for bringing misery to all Ferrets. A Rainy day usually results in grumpy ferrets, and there's nothing worse than that.
Her mentor was a seasoned Rainy Day veteran named Wring, a Flutter Ferret with many a gloomy day under his belt. Torrent thought he was a fine looking Ferret; his wings looked strong and his fur was thick, he seemed nice enough. "Torrent," Started Wring "today is your first day bringing life to our beautiful land. I've been informed that you hold the gift of releasing water from our atmosphere, it's lovely to meet another ferret that shares this gift." As Wring welcomed Torrent, she was looking out the window at the beautiful day.
Oh, how I wish I was in the Sun Dept She thought. "Oh, um, yeah. You as well, sir"
Wring continued "Water is a very important component to our lives, actually without it our lives would cease to exist." Torrent nodded "Water brings life to all ferrets."
I wonder what Hurri's doing? Thought Torrent
I'm sure he's making a Tornado in western territory "Well lets start our first job of the day, Our boss has told us to create a shower east of the river. Shall We?" Wring opened the swinging doors and fluttered out Torrent at his heels, never really listening to the wisdom Wring had to share.
They fluttered east towards the river and landed on the plush grass on the riverbank. She began the process scrunching her nose, but in her mind she wasn't thinkinking rain she was thinking about how beautiful it was and how much she DIDN'T want it to rain! Very slowly the water from the river climbed upwards in drops, much like rain, but in the opposite direction. her thought was do strong that no matter what Wringdid the water continued to leave the river.
"Oh my, what's happening?" Squeaked torrent "I scrunched my nose as I always do!" The sky was thick with giant puffy clouds that extended many miles. Eventually the river was dry. Wring sat idoly, waiting for the effects if Torrents thought to wear off. Without the water in the river ferrets would have nothing to drink! A major problem. Wring explained what happened to Torrent, who was very confused. "You see Torrent you were thinking about sun and dry weather and the water obeyed your thoughts. You need to focus and Be very careful, all ferrets will suffer till we get the water back to the soil". Torrent gulped she had no idea she oils hurt so many ferrets. "I'll focus better" she stated " how do we fix this?" Wring explained the plan, they couldn't jus put the wAter back, it would cause a flood. They would need to work very hard to put the wAter back over many days, and he land would be in a drought for a long time.
Torrent still daydreams while flying, but now she realizes how important it is to focus properly on an important job. She finished training, and is a moderately successful weather ferret. She still makes plenty of mistakes, but she also knows how to fix them. The land we returned to normal and all ferrets survived he drought.
