Aer may be one of the youngest runes, but already I can tell she has an old soul. Her eyes, as off putting as they may be at first, speak of a wisdom far beyond her age. She is full of quiet understanding and patience. She is a bit of a loner and is content to just sit all by herself, usually on some dock where she can help the mist roll in. But while she may be a loner, if you have a problem she is more than ready to hear it. She will listen to even the most trivial problem you have and nodd her head silently in sympathy. Aer almost never makes any sound, but her body language alwas speaks a thousand words.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
Just the thought of the word 'mist' brings a sort of tranquility to my mind. On misty nights I feel just peaceful and my thoughts feel clearer. I love the way it dampens sound and wraps around you. And a rune that is symbolic of this just sings to me. Plus that smell of fog... XD
Where will you keep him/her:
Ooh, I don't know, but I shall definitely figure something out... She will definitely have to have her turn in my siggy though...

She is always hungry, and often times will try to eat things that aren't edible. I once caught her nibbling on one of my socks... Needless to say that I had to throw it out considering the fact that the heel was almost completely missing.

Seer has always thought she could peer into the future and only a few lucky times she was correct. Seer doesn't fly as much as other rune dragons she prefers to stay on the ground and study plants and animals. She is very friendly but her obsession with fortune telling usually drives others away from her. The beads dangling from her wing are little trinkets she found while exploring near a human's home
Why do you wish to have him/her:
My friend was doing a join me and she was filling a form for the shimmer rune dragon so i decided to see if there are any new rune dragons thatd i like. when i came across this one she did kinda remind me of Luna from MLP but i still wanted her. She has many of my likes in her picture and i very much like fortune telling and everything of the sort and she just kinda showed as that kinda of dragon

She loves to tease the rune dragons younger then her with the beads around her wings. She will also stand at the edge of water looking at the mist on her in her reflection

Shimmer. I kinda named her after the Shimmer rune because of a little bit of confusion in the forum chat box. I also thought the name suit her because, well, mist shimmers. :3

Will you breed her?
At this age I cannot and unless I age her up, she will not be able to breed. I do not know what the future holds, so I will say 'yes' for 'just in case' reasons. :3

Why do you want her?
Because I am completely and utterly in love with this rune. She is gorgeous and as soon as I saw her, I had to apply. I do not see why you were worried we wouldn't like your dragons, they turned out amazing! As soon as I saw this one, I had to apply. Her color scheme, her design, and even the type of rune she is attracted me. I am absolutely addicted to the color blue, and I love how it really accents her beauty. And of course, dem eyes! B| Seriously, so amazing!

After reading the short story about her, I immediately started to develop her personality and story more. I think she would compliment my boys perfectly! Besides, I need some femine charm to help keep the testosterone level down a few notches. x3

What will you do with her? And where will she go?
I will, like all of my runes, draw fanart for this little beauty. I will also use her in RPs and write stories about our adventures together. She will inhabit my signature for a while as well as the Oekaki thread because I will be drawing her. She will be much loved. x3


In General:
Shimmer is a shy little rune dragon. She prefers to stay hidden and doesn't really like being in the spotlight. She isn't one for crowds, and tends to drift on her own and do her own thing. Shimmer can be a bit of a scaredy cat, especially when it comes to strangers. She will typically hide, atleast and until she starts to know them and trust them. She can be a little jumpy at times, especially around loud noises.

Shimmer is kind, and generally good natured. What few friends that managed to gain her trust, she absolutely adores. She is loyal, and will never leave your side. Like Fizzle, she is a little innocent and naive. She really doesn't see evil in the world, and, once you gain her trust, she will make friends with just about anyone.

Shimmer isn't the type to start running wildly or start acting crazy. She is more calm and seems to rather enjoy just sitting and watching, rather then exploring. She loves to stay close to her companions and will often snuggle with her Rune bearer. She seems to love the affection and attention.

Shimmer has a bit of a mischief side and can be a bit of a prankster at times. She isn't the type to go searching for trouble, but when the opportunity presents itself she will definately pounce on it. Like any of her kind, she loves to hide in the mist and call out creepy whistles to those passing by. Sometimes she does this to lure people away from her lair, or even something dangerous, but most of the time it's just to have a little fun and to freak people out.

Over all, Shimmer is a kind-hearted and sweet Rune. At times she may be a little shy, withdrawn, and even a little jumpy. Other times she can be a bit of a mischief maker. However, she is a calm, caring, and loyal friend and companion to have around.

Likes:
Shimmer loves her companions, Grimald, Fizzle, and her rune bearer, Cerezia. She even has a soft spot for Mephistopheles. She has a small crush on Fizzle, and follows him around ceaselessly. Fizzle doesn't seem to mind, however. I think he likes her too. Shimmer also has a love for beads, especially glass beads. She decorates her wings and feathers with them, and will collect any she comes across. Shimmer's favorite time of day is nighttime. She loves how mist seems so much more spookier and how easy it is for her to disappear at night.

Dislikes:
Shy, little Shimmer isn't exactly a big fan of crowds. She tends to avoid them at all costs, but when she has to be in a crowd, she tends to hide in my cloak, or a backpack pouch. She isn't one for loud noises, so Fizzle's fireworks frighten her a little. Shimmer also isn't one for heat. She prefer the coolor nights and will typically nap in a shaded area during the hotter part of the day.

She is known as Addy for short.

Addy is more 'aloof' than 'shy'.
She's a beautiful little Rune, and she knows it. While her friends are playing after the rain, she is looking into reflections and admiring her haze. She has a vain streak a mile wide, but it's not undeserved. She's splendid.
While she is proud, Addy is not above playing games. However, her games border on mischief, and she's an artful little troublemaker. She is not malicious, though; simply willful; and while she would happily embarrass and confuse, she would never actually go as far as to hurt anything or anyone.
Addy does not like dirt. She loves rain and moisture, but she cannot abide mud on her lovely plumage. She is always the first of the mist runes outside, to bathe and preen and clean off her always-immaculate wings, tail and underbelly. She is also always the last to leave. She lingers in the outskirts of the thick, curling mist, hoping to be seen and admired by any passer-by.
It was this trait and this carelessness which led her to meet her owner...
Why do you wish to have her:
I have been watching for a special rune for myself ever since I got my Mbarim. I wanted an adaptable Rune, which could be the companion of a multitude of characters.
I had no luck. Every Rune is beautiful, but none clicked for me.
Then I saw this little girl.
I can't tell you exactly what I love about her. Possibly her colours, possibly her apparently-expressionless eyes and face filled with regal disdain. I love her misty mane, and the beads on her wings.
I love her. I'm not sure exactly why, but I know that I do, and I know that I would continue to love her as long as I'd own her.
Where will you keep her:
She will have a special place in my character thread. I am planning to make one only for my Runes, so she will live there as soon as it's up. Furthermore, she will go onto the Rune Dragon site and have her own thread there. She will be used in as many semi-lit RPs as I can find for her, as soon as prelims end. If I have space, she will live in my signature, and she will definitely have entries in my art gallery.

Yes, in theory, but not for quite some time. If I get her, I intend to keep her a baby for as long as possible. I just can't resist her like his.
Any Quirks:
Addy has lots of odd little characteristics.
She cannot stand dirt in any form, and will instantly create mist to clean herself again.
She loves to admire herself in reflective surfaces, and will stare at her reflection for hours on end if given the chance.
She does not seek out attention, but greatly enjoys being admired (though she wouldn't show it for the world).
She likes to adorn herself with pretty things (like her beads, for example).

Capture

The ground seemed to slosh with excess moisture. It had rained solidly for three days, but finally the last, half-hearted drizzle had tapered off. Fat drops of water dripped off of leaves, rolled off of rocks and were caught in crevices. The hills were quiet; neither man nor animal daring to believe that the onslaught was, at last, over.

Splash.
Splatter.
Plink.

The first Mist Rune came.

Ahead of the rest, Addy hopped from rock to branch to wall, unwilling to get her pretty little talons muddy. She eyed the spongy ground with distaste.

Splish.
Skitter.
Scrabble.
Splat!

Her sure-footedness ran out. She jumped onto a rock, but the rock objected. Slick moss tore away from smooth stone as Addy grabbed at it to right herself. With a slither, she fell backwards, right into a deep, squelchy patch of mud.
She surfaced with an indignant series of sharp whistling protests, and clumsily dragged herself to the edge of the puddle. She pulled herself onto dry(ish) land, shaking the slick mud out of her plumage. It stuck like glue, though, and the heavy little dragon soon abandoned this attempt. Her little face set, she pulled her tail and heavy wings towards a pool of water.

Around Addy, the air began to fill with low whistles. Her family had arrived. Joyful and lively, they began to spread their mist over the soggy land, pulling the moisture away from the ground and offering it to the sun. Addy, however, did not spread her mist. She held it in a tight knot around herself, letting it bead on her back and wash the mud away. She shook and preened and scraped and misted, ignoring the chipper chatter of the runes around her.

The first lizard slid out of its hole to bask in the watery sun. The first kingfisher perched on a log, watching the water with keen eyes. The air thickened and whitened as all of the Mist Runes frolicked. All but Addy, who was trying to rub a stubborn blob of grime off of the back of her head.

A shadow darkened the wall of mist. The Mist Runes, quieted, tensed. The shadow was ominous, mysterious, foreign. They didn't like the shadow one bit. One by one, the Mist Runes slid back into their nooks and crannies, all watching, none watched.
None but Addy, who still couldn't quite get that blob of mud off of her head.

The mist began to disperse, due to a lack of anything to produce it. The shadow became more distinct. It grew a head, shoulders, two arms, two legs. It grew a nose, sharp and arrogant. It grew a brow, furrowed in concentration. It grew two dark eyes, narrowed in focus on a little pool of mist, from within which came a satisfied purr as the last drop of mud fell away.

The shadow which had become a man prowled forwards. A rune fluted in alarm, in warning.

Addy turned.

A moment too late.

The shadow man pounced, reached, grabbed, caught.

He smiled with white, predatory teeth.

"Gotcha."

Personality:
Serelith is relaxed most of the time. Usually floating about, in the morning, when the haze of morning dew and fog rest in the air. She'll be like a phantom almost, with her mist-flame and beads. Her wings perfect for gliding over mist, fog, etc. She is shy yet gets along with Victoria, mostly. She doesn't trust people, usually avoiding them, keeping her calm demeanor. When a heavy fog rolls in, she is excited, chirping and trilling to Victoria and I, disappearing into them fog and back out, it seems her rune glows more vividly when she's in fog or mist, making it stand out more. When she flies out of fog/mist her rune glows, that glow seems to attract fog/mist to follow, making her look like she's leading a trail of fog/mist. Her mist flames aren't actually hot, but cool to the touch, could that be why she is relaxed? Probably not, but have never seen her angry, irked, yes, but never angry, I'm sure it would be quite a scene.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
She is gorgeous, and adorable. I like her personality, it seems something drew me to her. When I saw her up close, she was beautiful and I literally stared for a minute or so.

Serelith doesn't like to be in the cottage, she'll sleep all around the house, and when morning arrives, she's already out the door, no matter how early I awake. Another little thing I noticed is she collects beads, I haven't seen her actuall do it but every once in awhile she'll have a new bead, she usually shines her beads and keeps them sparkling.
Other:
The day is clear, not a cloud in the sky of Eldemoor. Everyone is going about with their normal routine. Everyone seems content, the water runes lounging atop the waves, the runes who dwell in the forest resting and chirping, flying about the treetops. The people of Eldemoor happily working, playing or just relaxing with their family and runes. However, on days like this, Serelith the young Mist rune watches from the shade of a bush. Her expression seems impassive, relaxed yet her eyes flicker from ease to annoyance as she looks up towards the sky. She turns to examine her family, her rune bearer happily tending to her garden, oblivious to her rune's glowering gaze. Victoria, her rune friend, an albino rune meaning she was in the cottage, keeping away from the heat of the sun. Serelith let out a sigh, it's not that she didn't like the sun, or clear days, but this is a bit ridiculous. It had been a week and they hadn't traveled anywhere, no mountains with a blustery fog, or a secluded lake with a mist hanging around it, no, just bright, sunny cottage view. She waddled out from under the bush, spreading her wings and with a few beats was aloft in the sky. She glided effortlessly over to Evie, her rune bearer, and landed next to her. She watched before nudging her arm, causing Evie to glance down at her."Serelith?" she questioned. 'Evie, I would like to go to the lake' Serelith thought to her. Evie broke into a grin,maybe-'In the morning or we could visit your friend's cabin in that forest'she thought to her rune bearer, cutting her thoughts off in the process. Evie let Serelith perch on her arm before standing,"I'm not sure, I would have to ask her, I think she went traveling" Evie said, Serelith tightened her grip on her arm,'We can still go up there?' she asked, her eyes sparking with hope that made Evie grin. "Well...it's not that far away"she began to organize what they would need and how long it would take. Serelith nodded, her calm look never once leaving her face, she liked to travel, but she loved fog even more. She got giddy just thinking about it. Evie finally nodded, "Three days is the best we can do"she said to Serelith who nodded again. The reason why she loved visiting there was because of the thick fog that seemed to always lurk in the pine forests or the mist that hung over the beautiful lake, which they usually spent most of their time.

She is highly inquisitive but runs away at any sign of conflict. She can be snappy but her heart is in the right place regardless. Although she finds it difficult to interact with others she found a friend in an older and wiser dragon than herself and generally gets along with older dragons and people rather than those her age.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
I have been looking for a dragon that I really like for some time now and I really love her. Her colouring is amazing.

Only if I found another dragon I adored as much as this one. Seeing as her nature is quite picky so shall I be.
Any Quirks:
She is allergic to pollen and dust so sneezes a lot. As stated before she is happy to be alone but will socialize when necessary.

Tenebrae, unlike the other rune dragon babies was unable to fly. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't go with them while they practiced flying with the older rune dragons. A kindly old dragon told her that she need not worry that the time would come when she would be able to. Those words did little to cheer her up though and jealousy bloomed in her chest. Becoming bitter and resenting all of the other dragons that could fly she kept to herself until one morning...

A rune dragon younger than herself was trying to fly too close to the edge of the ledge that was where the rune babies had been kept by the adults. Tumbling forward the hatchling fell from the edge and plummeting with a cry of surprise. Thinking not for herself Tenebrae forgetting she couldn't fly swooped off of the edge after the hatchling and dived, until she had caught up with the falling dragon, caught him in her talons; spread her wings and flew back up to the ledge.

When all the dragons had returned and the story of how Tenebrae had saved the baby rune and much celebration had occurred, Tenebrae looked over to the old dragon who gave her a knowing smile, and for the first in a very long time she smiled.


I drew her like this because I wanted her to seem a little 'darker' in nature because of the jealousy she felt in my story. I also thought her flying with a smile was appropriate.
