2.Story:
I was parched. Everything around me was just desert... no civilization, no people, no nothing. Just sand and rocks and cactus. After a while, I fainted.
***
I felt drops of water in my mouth. I woke up. A small rune dragon hopped backwards when it saw my eyes open. It chirped. It held a old sponge, dripping with water, in its mouth. It hopped back forward and dropped the sponge at my feet. I picked it up, then looked ahead of me. An oasis! How beautiful! I sat down, cupped my hands and took some water from the oasis and drank. I flinched as the rune dragon hopped on my knee. Its sharp claws hurt a little, but I did not mind. As I looked the other way, I noticed there was a small civilization. I would get directions to get back home. When I got up from my sitting position, the rune dragon fluttered around a bit, then finally alighted on my backpack.
I expected the rune dragon to fly off of me and back to its home, but it stayed with me. I found out it was a girl and named her Sahara.
I walked over to a man creating adobe bricks to build a home. "Sorry, sir, but do you know where the nearest town is?" I asked.Sahara fluffed her fluffiness even more and snuggled into my backpack, like she was going to sleep. The man looked up from his work. "Yes," He said quickly. He had a small accent but he was still easy to understand. "It's north of here. There's a small, dry forest. before it, though. Today is hot. Be cautious of fires. The forest is practically burnt down already; there are only a few more tall trees." I nodded. "Thanks so much, sir, you really helped." I walked back to the oasis to fill my water bottle back up and headed to the forest, which could hardly be seen over the horizon.

The sun was setting fast. We were in the middle of the forest. Sahara was still rested on my backpack. "I think we should camp out tonight," I told Sahara. She replied with a chirp of approval. "We just need to get out of these woods, that man warned us about fires. Meanwhile, you may go to sleep." I felt the rune burrow into my backpack. I chuckled a bit and began to walk out of the forest.
After leaving the woods, there was just a small grassland separating me from the town I was so tired that I just decided to set up camp anyway. I took off my backpack and woke up Sahara. "Would you like to eat dinner?" I asked her. I pulled out a few leaves of lettuce and a couple of small slices of steak from my backpack. "Which one do you eat?" I asked, putting one of each food onto the ground for her to choose. She took the lettuce leaf and had a small bite of that. Suddenly, she jumped into the air and began chewing. She'd caught an insect. "So you eat plants and bugs? Seems easy enough." I said.
After we both ate our dinners, I flattened down some grass. "Where would you like to sleep?" I asked. Sahara crept into my backpack. From inside, I heard a chirp. "It's warm in there, huh? You can sleep there, of course!" I laid down. "Good night, Sahara." I murmured, followed by a yawn. I heard a soft, dreamy chirp before I fell asleep.

When we got to the town, me and Sahara got a flight back to our home. I love her so much. I couldn't imagine life without her.
3.Another Story:
Sahara and I sat on the couch. A few months had passed since I found her, and we were home. I looked at her. "So, want to go for a little walk outside? Would you like that?" Sahara chirped loudly and flapped over to the door. I smiled. "Okay!" This little rune loved to walk around to meet our neighbors, and play with them. I opened the door. Sahara flew out, waited for me at the porch, then when I caught up to her we began our walk.
About halfway into the walk, we saw a man walking a dog. Sahara began chirping to get their attention. The dog looked over and barked. The man looked over. Sahara was now perched on my head, chirping, the high pitched noises making the dog bark as the dog was slowly lead away. The barks got silenter and silenter as they faded away. Once the dog and man had disappeared from sight, Sahara flew down from my head and other the cement sidewalk. She chirped. I smiled. "Well, Sahara, you didn't need to chirp so much, but you were fine..." I stuck my arm out for her to perch on it. She hoped on top of it. "Cheeer-rip!" Sahara squealed as she saw a young girl come over to pet her. "Hi!" said the girl. "Hello," I said. "Would you like to pet Sahara?" The girl nodded. "Yes, please." "Alright," I set Sahara down. "You can pick her up if you want." The girl stroked the rune dragon softly, Sahara chirping softly. Then, Sahara was lifted into the air by her hands. Sahara walked up her arm and onto her shoulder. "Cheeeerup!" Sahara called out to me. Then she flew over to my shoulder, then back to the girls'. Finally she perched on my head. Sahara chirped. "See you tomorrow, Sahara!" The girl waved at me and the rune dragon and walked back to her house.
We also went to the park that day. Me and Sahara just watched all the animals the entire time. Sahara was amazed by all of the animals and plants and was truly
fascinated by the snails. She was confused by the slime that came from it and enjoyed the feeling of the shell. Sahara is the best rune dragon ever!
Sahara napped quietly under her quilt. She was snuggled close to her snail plushie and she dreamed about nature and snails. Often, she would toss and turn, and chirp a little. She smiled as the dreamed of a snail crawling up a flower. Then she flew near the flower and studied the snail. The snail turned out to be her pet in the dream, and now Sahara wants me to get a snail for her...
