Torches
Torches lit the night
in my time of fright
I was greeted by a light
he glowed across a field of crops all blight
The sight made me weary
but as he came to me I became cheery
he picked up my dreary
and tossed it like a deary
he hovered by my side
warming my cold hide
his love seemed worldwide
but I guess it was only because he was cast aside
I named him torch
everything he touched was unfortunately scorched
but he became my torch
as we talked on the porch
He was my torch
