Latin Spirit is a courageous leader, but has a serious mischievous streak and a high sense of curiosity. Spotting a camp one night not far from his flock, the male is unable to control his curiosity and moves towards it, as he's never seen humans before. To his surprise, the humans are on an a trip to find his own kind. After a long watch, he is captured by there hearts and allows them to write about him. During this time his family left him with the humans. There he encounters capture! The people attempt to tame the male, but Latin Spirit manages to outwit all who attempt to control him.
Through a series of events Latin Spirit tries and tries to free himself, but it was not good enough. He is put on a plane and taken to another country, cooler than africa. And louder. After returning to the town, he is put with another few african Runes, much to Latin Spirit's dismay. He soon gets along with the other runes and learns about there parts of Africa. But this do not soften his yearning to be free.
At the end of their time together their capturers decides that Latin Spirit should never be tamed and tries to free him. As Latin Spirit asks the other Runes to come with him to his flock, but the hopes of getting bak alive were slim. Taking the change they agreed and fled with him. One rune is shot by the hunters, knocking her into the river while Latin Spirit knocks the hunter's gun away, saving the others lives. Spirit dives into the river to try to rescue a Rune, but is unsuccessful and they both plummet over a waterfall. Having both survived, Latin Spirit comforts the Rune on the riverbed as she is dying from her gun wound until the hunters scouts tear him away. After finding a fellow rune is critically injured just as Latin Spirit is being led away, the human vows to free the Rune once and for all, in accordance with the life-debt of the other Runes; and follows the men after tending to his own Rune.
Latin Spirit and other stolen runes are loaded onto a lab and taken to to be tested and messed with. Latin Spirit realizes that if the men were to get there DNA they would be in mortal danger. Latin Spirit breaks free from the lab and escapes into the confusing landscape. But to his surprise he found something similar. The human appears, saves Spirit and takes him to safety along with the others runes.
Latin Spirit knew he would never be free in Africa again, but the humans Runists were better then the lab owners Or at least, that is what he thought...
