Story: Kestrel quietly tiptoed past the big dog chained in the yard. He was asleep. There was a bowl of food and water set out for the dog. Kestrel was unsure of wether to proceed forward. A growl in his belly due to the fact that he hadn't eaten in two days settled it. He went forward and quickly gobbled down the whole bowl. He took a long drink of water. He heard a long, low growl. He slowly turned around. The dog was face-to-face with him. He stepped a few feet backward. "Hah, can't get me now! Your chain is too short! Hah!" The dog growled. Kestrel noticed that the dog's stake had been dug out of the ground. That meant-
The dog was loose.
Kestrel felt beads of sweat on his head. "Um... I... Hey- look over there, a bald eagle!!"
The dog stepped forward.
Kestrel sighed. "I guess you aren't a avid birdwatcher. I'll try something else- RUNNN!"
He dashed across the yard and went quickly over the fence. The dog leaped over it in a single bound. Kestrel ran to the nearest house and squeezed himself into the drainpipe. He was able to move about a foot and a half up the pipe before he got stuck. Well, at least the dog couldn't get him. He heard him breathe outside the pipe, growl and bark a few times, and then leave.
It started to rain.
Kestrel held his breath as it covered his body and soaked him. The force of the water finally popped him out of the pipe. He shook himself off. "Maybe tommorow I'll just stick to Dumpsters."
Personality: A smart alley cat-like kitkin. He is very brave and adventurous. When not being constantly pursued, he is a very sweet, loving Kitkin.
