History Sylvester was a wild born Kitkin- for his mother was infact an escaped pet. She didn't mind human company, but did not...yearn for affectionate strokes like the other did. And so, she left her human. Syl, as he is known by me, was born under the garden shed of his mother's ex-owner. Syl's father was wild through and through- making his home in a tree in the yard of the female's old owner.
The pair courted in the usual manner, and it didn't take long for the female to deliver her litter in a small yet cosy burrow underneath the garden shed.
Sylvester had three sisters- who were named Accalia, Zoe and Nia. They were perfectly content as wild Kitkins, playing together amongst leafy shrubs and winding in and out of the long grass in the rockery. Sylvester, however, crouched in the grass just infront of the shed, watching the human going about her daily buisness, tending to the plants. The young Kitkin was drawn towards her, a result of his mothers raising. The woman seemed friendly, with a gentle smile as she weeded out the choking ivy that was trying to strangle the reddish bush that was closest to the shed.
And so, one day, Sylvester made himself known to her. The young kitkin- not even the size of the human's palm- bounded towards the female, a friendly yowl parting his soft ginger jaws. The whole family looked up- amnd Syl's mother gave a silent wail of loss as the female human snatched Sylvester from the ground and placed her palm over him- trapping him in the cage of her hand and stalking inside.

Sylvester realised immediately why his mother had wished to escape from the woman. She caged him- not relying on his trust in her to keep him close. Syl's days were long- staring tiredly out of the window at his family, still frolicking unknown in the wild garden.
Then, one day, a child came to visit. She'd been out running that morning and was parched. Since the woman knew her mother's friend- they were work acquaintanced- she figured it'd be okay to ask for a glass of water. The girl plonked herself down on a chair, and gulped down the cool liquid. Through the transparent glass, she saw the strangest thing. A tiny, fluffball with adorable eyes staring at her balefully. She was gorgeous, and ginger- reminding her very much of a feline she used to know.
Once she'd swallowed, she inquired about the animal- A Kitkin, she soon learned. The girl asked if it minded being stroked, and the woman allowed her to take the fluffy creature from his cage and place it on her arm. Syl climbed into the crook of her elbow, nestling into the fabric of her sleeve.
The child was captivated, and asked if there was any way this creature was for sale. The woman promptly named a price- high, but not so high it would be impossible for the girl to reach. Gently running her finger down the Kitkin's spine, the child reluctantly placed Syl back in his cage, before haring home to ask her mother if she could take home a new pet.

The next day, the girl returned. She reported to the woman that her mother had no problem with her adopting Syl, as long as she payed for it herself. The kid pointed out that she had about three quarters of it in her saving box, but would need the final fourth from another source.
And so, whilst she saved more money, the child returned each day to play with Sylvester, forging a strong and unbreakable bond. When the time came that the kid could finally afford Sylvester, she handed over the money without hesitation and walked home with the Kitkin riding on her shoulder.
He goes with her everywhere, waiting in the little home she's made him on a shelf when she's at school. Syl is happy.

Name: Stripes
Owner: Shenan_the_cat
Gender: female
Age: young
History: (told by her) It was cold out, the warmth of the nest was a welcoming feature of the dusty hollow at the base of the old Oak. Wind roared and my ears pricked as the branches swayed, throwing down clumps of orangey red leaves. It was going to be a long sleepless night, much like the night before when the river had over flowed and the burrow was washed clean of any homey items.
