Story (optional if you did art): There was a long silence I sat my tail twitching. And my ears listening to the sounds around me. I hopped from branch to branch of the apple tree looking for the ripest fruit. From the ground I could be easily mistaken for a cat. Well, if the person was near sighted. My bright yellow and red wings suck out like a sour thumb. I looked through the branches at the little farm house. A pretty girl came riding along and stopped under the tree. I tried to hid myself but my bright colors were to much to blend in with the green leaves. She looked up and smiled. She hadn't spotted me. I sighed, and lay down on the branch and began munching a big, juicy apple. As I ate the fruit I spit out the pits seeing how far I could get them to go. One flew down from the tree and that was a loud "Ouch! What on earth was that!?!" i realized I had it the girl. I tried to hid in a bunch of leaves but my bright tail was still visible. "What are you?" I could hear her voice clearly. I peeked out of my hiding place by pure curiosity. "There you are," she smiled and I met her eye, "Come hear," I stepped forward timidly. Seeing as she meant no harm I hopped from branch to branch until I was right over her head. "What are you?" she asked. I tillted my head side to side, trying to decide what to do. "Do you speak?" She asked. "Indeed," I said, "We can all talk," I glided down to her. "You live hear?" I flicked my tail to the house. She nodded, "Thank you for feeding me. I have been eating your fruit for a while now." She smiled and patted me on the head. "It's fine," she said sweetly.
From that moment on I visited her every day. I quite liked this human. I learned that her name was Lilly. She was the sweetest little girl. She gave me all sorts of things, on day... oh I remember it well. One day she gave me something very special.
"I have a surprise for you?" Lilly said. I smiled, "Well? What is it?" I flew around before landing on her lap. She pulled out a little box and from that a beautiful necklace. Shining gold on glowing, white silk. "I love it," She placed it around my neck and I smiled. I nuzzled her playfully and she scratched my back. From that moment on we had the unbreakable bond.
