~:History:~ An average sized TRE stands at the edge of a cliff, she is a beautiful chestnut and white mare with white stripes running through her mane and tail. As she lowers her head to look over the cliff the wind picks up lifting her fetlocks exposing her green hooves. She thinks back to the day that caused her to change her name...
"Hey Kateri," a young colt calls out to a small chestnut yearling.
"Yes, Chaska?" the TRH with white patches and stripes in her mane and tale responded. They were in a large clear field overlooking the others of the TRE herd.
"Want to play tag," Chaska, meaning first born son in Sioux, asked Kateri. Kateri, meaning pure in Mowhok, looked back at the darkly shaded yearling that stood slightly smaller that her.
"Sure," she smiled trotting over to Chaska. "Were should we play?"
"By the arch," he playfully hopped and bucked, being only two years old he was just a kid.
"You know we can't go there, that's were the humans go," she opened her eyes wide. "We are to young to go by the humans."
"So your a scaredy fly," he taunted flicking his tail and rearing up, "scaredy fly! Scaredy fly!"
"I am not," she nipped back pinning her ears back, "fine, I'll go," she huffed.

"Tag your it!" Chaska yelled tapping Kateri with his nose on her flank.
"Huff, let... me... catch... my breath," she huffed laying on her side.
Chaska was bouncing around bucking and kicking, "no! No time outs!"
"Were do you get this energy!," Kateri sighed hoisting herself back to her feet. "You better run now!" She hollered galloping after him. He bolted past the large shinny silver arch that loomed over the both of them. As they ran they ended up in the trees and bushes. Pushing themselves through the underbrush the vines whipping across there sides and face. They burst out into the blindingly bright sun causing Kateri to stop in her tracks.
"KATERI!" a blood curdling scream echoed out from a highly frightened Chaska. He had kept running, straight off the cliff.
Kateri opened her eyes and ran skidding to a halt at the edge. "Chaska!" she yelled back seeing him fall, "NO!"

"Now what happened again?" a large adult TRE questioned the small Kateri.
Being still only a child she was afraid of getting in trouble, "I was walking by the arch.." she started getting cut off by the adult.
"You know you are not supposed to go there!"
She lowered her head and continued, "I heard Chaska playing in the trees so I went in looking for him... I must have startled him because he started running. Then I heard him yell." The full grown nodded his/her head an indication for her to keep going. "I ran after him and came to the edge of a cliff, he had fallen over. I'm sorry.." she started to cry.
"Well its not your fault, I'ts not like you knew he was going over there." the adult tried to comfort her, "well I will have to let his parents know." "There going to be heart broken," he mumbled to himself, "that was there first born..." "You may go Kateri."
"Um, ma'am/sir?"
"Yes?"
"Never-mind," she lifted her head.
Busy he just nodded his head and walked off, "okay, go ahead Kateri."
Kateri ran as fast as she could back to the cliff, "Chaska you can't be gone," she cried out seeing him laying there at the bottom. "Get up Chaska! Get up! Please!" she cried, "I have a secret now, she whispered to herself, I will always keep. Chaska to remind me of what I have done, from this day on I will live with the name Kimi, Secret." She lowered her head and closed her eyes the memory's flashing behind her eyelids.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She opened her eyes to see the cliff through an adult, it had been a few years since then. She has told her secret to only two others, his parents. They forgave her and promised not to tell. She comes to this cliff every month on the day that she play her last game with Chaska. "I miss you, my true friend. I will never forget you." She turned and walked back into the trees looking over her shoulder she saw his face in the clouds, "goodbye, Chaska."
Sorry it is so sad, I just had this story just come to me as soon as I looked at her. I hope this is okay?
