My life as a foal
I was born on a cool fall morning. The sun was blowing and the sun shone brightly. My dam, Stargazer, nuzzled me to a standing position. Like all foals, my legs wobbled. I stumbled many times, and finally I got the hang of it. Soon I was galloping with the other horses. It seemed like I had been running for all my life. I am a buckskin. Living on the plains of Nevada.
Growing up
As years past, I was taught of everything that went on. I saw humans for the first time, and got to know there little foal Anna. I also got to know the blacksmith and my rider. I was trained to wear the strange saddle and the bit. I spent those years in happiness, until I was sold. I had been living on the ranch for four years. I had grown older and learned many new things. Then on a crisp winter morning, my master came with a new man. He was sturdily built with well-groomed brown hair. On his face he wore a kind smile. "She's a beauty!" he exclaimed. My owner just nodded and stroked my muzzle. "I heard you were looking to by her" my master said. The man nodded. "She's perfect" he nodded. "How much?" "$1200" "Hmph... pretty high price." "She's one of the finest horses in Nebraska." While they negotiated I was glancing around for my mother. 'Where is she?' I wondered. Then a hand tugged me. "Sold!" my owners voice cried out. "Mother!" I whinnied. I was pulled farther and farther away. Then I was pushed into a trailer.
