It appears that your presence here has caught the interest of some of the resident's by the river.
However, their just listening out of curiosity, but will run if you approach! So don't bother them too much yet! Look but don't touch, I suppose.

"Why, Of course!"

"We crocs have been helping the wildlife here for generations whenever they need it, which seems surprising to you, I am sure, considering our crocodilian appearance! However, our friendship with fishes, at least, goes way back. Here is an early legend from my family which I heard as a child."

"Once, King Fish and Lord Crocolily, as they are called, were enemies. They fought over the river and the grass, despite the fact King Fish could not walk on land, and they were always trying to foil one another. Lord Crocolily tried to eat King Fish, and King Fish tried, in turn, to steal whatever valuable items he managed from Lord Crocolily."

"However, one day, a strange newcomer arrived to the forest, who was called Tiger-Cat. Tiger-Cat threatened all who dared near his cave, and little by little took more and more territory for himself. He preyed upon all the mice, and even the Kimber-Men feared him. However, he was fearful of the crocolilies, although he would not admit it. They looked to be almost a match to him, and so he was wary."

"Yet it did not take him long to decide they were a no threat! Soon he invaded their ponds and rivers and began to hunt the fish. The fish were terrified of this large striped feline, and so they begged Lord Crocolily and his family for aid. However, the crocolilies refused to help."

"Then, one day, a great flood overtook the land of Lord Crocolily. Many homes and nests were ruined, and some of the weaker crocolilies would surely have perished. Yet, to all's surprise, King Fish ordered his people to help them. Soon, all where safe on higher land."

"'Now I have helped your family.' Said King Fish to Lord Crocolily 'In turn, you must come to help ours. Tiger-Cat still prowls, keep him at bay and we'll live in peace.'"

"Lord Crocolily was now eager to aid his new ally, and quickly the crocolilies began to threaten Tiger-Cat. They did not let the large feline have any peace, and so eventually he fled to another region of the island out of annoyance."

"Since then, Crocolily and Fish help each other... or so they say, anyways!"

You said you have theories about who the wise man was that captured you. What are those theories?

"Well... back then I thought he was the last of the original Kimbers. However, although it does not sound believable, I sometimes think that he was the original Man0kimber. But that sounds silly, right? That was hundreds of years ago that Man-Kimber existed!"

"This is not much of a story, but it might aid in your travels. Why not listen?"

"There is a legend that Grah the great had a lineage of fire breathing Crocolilies! I do not travel as far as the volcanoes all too often, but some of my younger friends tell me they do see glimpses of strange, large crocolilies with shaggy fur. Perhaps they are the ones?"

What's your favorite location on the island?

"Ah, Misty Lake! An old sweetheart of mine lived there, and it is the birthplace of my mother. Perhaps you'll meet my old sweetheart if you visit? Send her my regards! Her name is Jasmine."

"Misty Lake is very cool and windy, and the mist is light enough to see through, but creates a plesant shimmer to the air! I would love to visit it again someday."
