Above the area where all the layers are, there will be a little check box that say 'Lock Alpha'. If there is a check in the check box, then, depending what layer you are on and what color you are using, when you color the picture it should only go over previously drawn lines/colored areas.

If that didn't work, you should probably PM a Newbie Helper or Oekaki Moderator for help, as it's not my job right now. c:

I got inspired by the clouds one morning, it was pretty dusky and the sun was just about to rise. Clouds over layered the sky except for near the horizon. On the horizon there was on stray cloud, and with the morning sun it looked a bright, bright yellow. It looked like a string of light. That's what I got inspired by, and I'm pretty happy with it's outcome. c:
