For countless years deer lived in the Lost Wood. It was named for the legend that none but those born there and those of their blood could find the woods or leave them and return.
The deer lived in two herds, ruled by brothers who called themselves lords and each led a herd of their own but shared responsibility in protecting the forest.
It was said the forest had magical properties that allowed the deer there to have abilities or characteristics not seen in deer of other woods. They always stayed there, fearing that leaving would result in the loss of those things.
But when the brothers died, leaving no heirs, the forest became chaotic. Many wanted to take their place and there was much fighting. In the end the two herds split into smaller herds, each led by their own lord. At first they tried to share the woods, but rivalries were strong and for the sake of their survival several herds chose to leave the wood and find a home elsewhere. More followed, but some were still afraid to leave the wood.
Now most of the herds dispersed over the land, finding homes in many different places and forming new customs and laws but managing to mostly keep peace with one another.

But now there is trouble spreading over the land, a rising spirit of darkness that is turning the herds against each other. Will they succumb to the darkness and fight among each other? Or will they band together once more to banish the darkness from these lands?

-Magic/ magical abilities are allowed
- Deer may not be changed into other species/humans in canon writings/art for your herd
- Incest is not allowed, nor are adult/fawn relationships
- You may not breed your deer outside of the official nursery
- You may split your deer into different herds or make some loners/rogues if you wish
- They can grow/age at any rate you wish
- You are welcome and encouraged to develop your herd through interactions with other player's harems and the same goes for individual characters

- Longer hair (Hoof length or a little shorter) and tails completely or almost completely made of hair are reserved for does except in the case of special adopts.
- Larger antlers that go far above the ear tops of a deer are reserved for bucks except in the case of special adopts.
- Bucks and does can have straight, wavy, or curly hair/manes
- Bucks and does can have no mane/shorter manes.
- Deer can be any variety of natural colors and natural (not man-made) patterns that would be seen in real animals (Stripes, spots, bird based, etc.)
- Neon colors/unnatural colors are not allowed

General Rules:

- Traditional herds have one buck and 2+ does but you are free to keep as many other bucks in your herd as you want, whatever works with your development.
- You may not 'share' adopts or herds with other players.
- You are free to fill out a form to gift an adopt to another player if you want them to have it (Excluding your founder)
- You may trade your adopts for other adopts or CS pets and C$ but not currency from other sites or real currency

- *Breeding will be added at a later date*
- Be respectful of everyone and have fun!

- You may post a form on this thread to get your founder and must wait for an artist to claim it
- You may not request a specific artist on your form
- You can only post a completed form, no partly done forms will be accepted
- You may not provide reference for your founder that is art done by someone else. Only designs made by you can be used as reference.

What kind of place do they live in and how did they come to live here/build a herd here?: Klyde dwells in the large, harsh, looming snowcapped mountainside. He was born there, and adapted to the hard way of life up so high. He realized the pros of living high, high away, after living in a mountain cave for three days. He was a young buck, cast out of the herd, as he was a buck. It's customary. Anyways, he remembers gazing over the vast valley below, and the dangerous tipped mountains, and thinking to himself, what a dangerous yet fantastic place to live. His ambition was to build a herd, and he was going to do just that, high up in the sky, on a mountain. No other buck had done it before. They would safe from predators (well, most of them, as birds of prey dwelled there as well), had natural water supplies, and easy to access feeding grounds. They were well protected, and there were many caves and large rocks to build a camp. And this, was the start of Klyde's Herd.

What kind of place do they live in and how did they come to live here/build a herd here?: His herd started out not as something of friends coming together or of a desire to form close bonds, but more as way to survive what seems like an overzealous winter. Their lives as a whole had been easy and done separate, rare in their species, but common in their lands. However, as if sent by some divines themselves, a snowstorm brewed over their pristine lands and coated it in snow that never seemed to melt. Predators, once low in count, drew in from the north and the east, flanking and picking off individuals that had not yet fallen due to the sudden changes. Hawthorn (what I'm naming the buck founder) and most others he now works with, were young when this spread and have grown up in a world almost apocalyptic and thus a need for adaptation arose. He wasn't the first to rally others, but he set forth and gathered those within his area. Stronger together, afterall.

What kind of place do they live in and how did they come to live here/build a herd here?: Kirra lives on the border of a forest and a field. she lives here because as a fawn, she always admired the drastic differences between the biomes. Kirra related to this because it reminded her of her own pelt. plain like a field, and spotted like a forest. One morning while out with her mother near this forest, she wandered too far into her favorite flowers, petunias, and got lost. she has lived there ever since. Over the years, she decided that this life suited her and became the mother figure for lost creatures that wandered into the woods. occasionally, a fox would come and investigate the woods. Kirra would come to greet them but it would always run away. one day, she had enough and ran in front of it to stop it. the fox was terrified and cowered in the bushes. It was then that she decided she needed a herd. she could no longer live alone, scaring poor foxes. she let the fox go and set off to start a herd.

What kind of place do they live in and how did they come to live here/build a herd here?:
The Harem of the Hazy Hollow came to be eons ago. A deep hollow surrounded by maples and birches and the occasional pine or spruce stands near a cliff-edge, the hollow resting against the sheer rock face going up. Downwards, where well-traveled trails are visible on the cliff's edge, a sandy beach rests, the water heading out towards distant islands, too far for most to swim to. Only the strongest individuals can make the long swim without drowning, as the distance is not only great, but the water is treacherous if one does not know where the deep currents and powerful downward-pulling eddies lie. Of course, there's a way across hidden sandbars... but it takes far too long to be traveled regularly, and a misstep will send one promptly to a watery grave.

The sand to the north is host to a small fishing village of just forty or so humans, and to the south is more mixed forest.

No one is certain how the Harem of the Hazy Hollow first came to the cliffside. It is believed to have been in the dead of winter, when frost trims the spruce trees and the hollow is covered in a deep, misty haze. The icicles that line the edge of the overhang reach lengths taller than a deer, and at one death via falling icicle has been recorded in the Harem's oral history.

What kind of place do they live in and how did they come to live here/build a herd here?:

Within the herds territory is scattered with bones, the grass, trees and waters are stained blood. The woods are always dark with a fog that never lifts. If you dare to venture forward just be prepared to face the deers that made their home here. You may be severely injured or even killed entering these deers territory. As you venture further into their territory you see that there is a dark rock cave where they sleep and gather for meetings, you take a look to see the caves walls were painted with blood. You couldnt quite tell if it was their history story, a prophecy or some thing else. You continue making sure you kept silent so the members wouldnt know you were in their territory. At last, you come to a meadow, but it was stained red with blood.
