General Adoption Rules and Information
- All Grimbits are custom lined, they lack a proper base to influence artist creativity,
and originality in all designs. No grimbit is perfectly alike!
- Grimbits are a closed species, which means you cannot make your own without species
owner permission or a MYO ticket. You cannot make a similar character and claim it is a
Grimbit either.
- You cannot breed your Grimbits on your own, or with a creature outside the species. Any
Grimbit breeding must be done through an official artist when they offer a slot.
- Don't steal the concept or art of the species. Quite frankly it's very disrespectful to the
owner and artists if you use official Grimbit art for your own without permission.
- If a Grimbit was purchased by a user, that Grimbit may be resold, regifted or traded as
long as it doesn't exceed the original price. If a Grimbit was won through a free method of
obtaining, you can only trade or gift that Grimbit.
- You will be added to the Grimbit's reference, however you CANNOT alter the design of
your Grimbit whatsoever. We add users so they can get transparent references and separate
adopts if it's needed.
- 10 honorable mentions on free adopts can be redeemed for a standard MYO. Keep track
of the links to your honorable mentions so you can redeem them in the future! We encourage
you to join free methods of adopting to obtain these.
- You can only purchase 4 Grimbits a month, however you may enter for as many free adopts
as you'd like. MYOs and customs do NOT count towards this number.
- Do not harass artists for customs, MYO slots or breedings. This will give you a warning
regardless of the context of the situation. If you have a problem, contact a moderator.
- Grimbits obtained through breeding may be grown 14 days after they are posted by the
artist. Any pairing regardless of gender can breed, as all Grimbits fit under the term intersex,
able to reproduce with each other regardless of how they identify.
Grimbit Rarity, Traits and Anatomy
- Grimbit hind legs are never covered with fur, and extreme edits aside from a missing leg is forbidden.
Minor edits such as talons, claws or pads are allowed and do not count towards any specific
rarity for obvious reasons, as they're standard edits.
- Grimbits most often reflect on traits that already existing animals share. An example
would be a sub breed of Grimbit having cat-like features such as their ears and tail, and
another set of Grimbits having reptile features such as lacking body fur and having scales.
Some Grimbits can even have wings of any type, however they're probably not usable.
These edits are considered to be fairly common.
- Grimbits can have supernatural or paranormal aspects as well, such as plant growth on
the body and gem development. Some Grimbit have been seen with decaying parts of the
body, or limbs made of another material. These are often considered more desirable, so
they're quite rare.
- Grimbits may also have huge mutations, such as multiple limbs, different torsos,
reverse/munchkinism and even centuar bodies. Things such as extra eyes and mouths are
slid into this category as well, since they affect the function of the Grimbit itself. These
are often considered to be uncommon.
- Despite all this, traits are not guaranteed to be passed down upon breeding. There is
a 25% chance that a trait will be passed down to an offspring if one parent Grimbit has
the trait, however if both parents have a trait that chance is raised to 35%. Selective
breeding is favored for this reason, to attempt to control the appearance of the offspring.
These chances of passing are decreased depending on the rarity of the trait, so don't place
your money on rarer traits passing down to offspring!
- If you have questions about traits on your Grimbit, ask an artist.
