Worm on a Wolf
A special species of wolf have adapted to the cold and harsh environment of the mountains despite having short fur. They achieved the adaptation by committing to a symbiotic relationship with a species called "Worms." These Worms are an intelligent species that will attach themselves to the wolves to give the wolf warmth. The wolves are connected to the Worms and can see using the eyes of the Worms. the Worm's eyes are special, they don't need to blink and they provide 20/20 vision, can spot prey a mile away, and can allow the wolves to see in the dark as if it were day time. The Worm doesn't harm the wolf, and all it needs in return is food. These wolves are known for being more aggressive than the average wolf due to their need to hunt. The longer the worm, the older it is meaning the smarter it is. Long worms that cover the entire tail are generally seen as the leaders of the pack due to their intelligence and hunting capabilities. Worms that cover most of the back are seen as great hunters and strong individuals. Worms that cover half a wolf's back are strong but not compared to the longer worms. The worms that cover just the head are young and while smart, are very arrogant and always get into troubling situations. These wolves can be tamed by giving them copious amounts of food on a regular basis. This allows the Worm to trust you and it will tell the wolf that you are an ally and not a foe. Gaining one as a friend is tough though, for just the hike up the mountain to their territory is tough enough.
