So, how does this work? ➸ Children of the Sky is sort of a cross between a traditional adoption thread and an rpg like Dungeons and Dragons or the Powered by the Apocalypse games. In order to achieve anything in this game, you must explain how or why these events occur. From completing quests, to using your MP to add traits or members to your flight, the basics of all tasks and rewards is to role-play what happens and develop your Skylings and the world around them. Certain tasks may require a roll in order to see if you pass or fail. This is not a permanent failure! In most cases, if you don't pass a roll you will be given a small, additional task in order to move on. This is simply to add more interest and obstacles and to provide a more realistic sense to the game; things won't always work out exactly the way you intended.
In addition, you will make choices that alter how the game works for you in the future. For instance, in one of the first quests you're leader will have to make a choice between three factions: Sun, Moon, and Stars. This choice will decide which special quests, skills, and traits your flight will have access to. But don't worry! This game is meant to be fun, not stressful; if you made a decision that you aren't happy with, feel free to talk to one of the staff members and we'll work something out to make sure you're happy with your decision.

⭐ You may only have one flight
- ➸Until you complete the quests that specifically
say otherwise, you are only allowed to have one flight
and one faction.
⭐ You will start off with 1 Skyling
- ➸You cannot get a second Skyling until you
complete the appropriate quests.
⭐ Do not alter your Skylings without permission
- ➸ All quest traits and MP purchases must
be approved by a staff member
⭐ Do not claim or alter Skylings that are not your own
- ➸ This includes adding traits to a friend's Skyling
without their permission. All staff must see written
perission from the owner of the Skyling before traits
are added.
⭐ Do not reuse prompts from previous quests
- ➸ Whether they are your own or someone
else's, you may not reuse art or information that
has already been used to complete a quest or add
traits via MP.
⭐ Complete all tasks yourself
- ➸ All work must be your own. You cannot ask
someone to do the work for you or pay someone to
complete your prompts or quests. In order to level
your Skylings, your work must be your own.
⭐ Do not sell your skylings
- ➸ You may gift or trade your skylings within the
species, but you may not sell them for any sort of
currency.
What are Relics? ➸ All Skylings have an object that helps them channel their magic. These items are called relics, and are often objects of personal or magical significance to the Skyling. The more significant the object, the more powerful the relic. All recils, however, must be made of some sort of metal or gem-like material in order to properly channel a Skyling's magic.
What is MP? ➸ MP, or Magic Points, are a sort of currency for Children of the Sky. You can use MP to purchase trait tickets, skills, additional member slots, customs, and more. MP is earned in several different ways. The most common way to earn MP is through completing quests and participating in events, as well as the weekly quest prompt. MP can also be gained through various random events, gifts, and trading.
What are Factions? ➸ There are three different types of factions: The Sun, The Moon, and The Stars. Each Faction is allied to a corresponding deity; the Goddess of the Moon, the Deity of the Sun, and the Celestial Twin Stars. These deities bless their factions with specific traits and skills that cannot be found anywhere else. Each Flight is affiliated with one faction and all members follow the path of the flight's chosen deity.
What is a Flight? ➸ A flight is simply a group of Skylings with a single leader, much like a pack of wolves. Each member starts with one flight of skylings, though additional flights may be earned in the future.
How do I level up? ➸ Once you earn a significant amount of MP, you can go to the [Tree of Life] to level your skylings. Leveling up in Children of the Sky simply means your skyling has earned enough magical energy to gain a new trait and show off their magic ability. Rare traits show great accomplishments within a skyling's life, and so are often met with respect within the community.
