quick bio of the species: Karanie Pearls were once feral, but have over time become domesticated.
Karanie's are kept in homes to catch unwelcome rodents but are also kept as loving house pets.
They make great companions and great service animals. Loyal and they don't hurt anyone or any other animal.
The pearls they carry are meant to help them in the wild, but they still keep them for protection and good luck.
Karanie's are not born with the pearls, the parents combine their pearls and they magically make as many as there are in the litter.

Solmaniks require their shining gems to live. These gems absorb sunlight, which gives Solmaniks their energy. They're known for hibernating through rainy periods and waking up at dawn to receive early morning sunlight. Commonly kept as pets due to their energetic and generally happy nature.

I got really into this species and may design a different character to it if I don't win.
