looking for artists!
i only plan to open this species once every few weeks for adoptions before retiring them,
so i'd like all the designs that are released to be high quality! :3c

what are doll deer?
doll deer are best compared size-wise to a gallon of milk,
and have incredibly long lifespans, the oldest living a record 352 and a half years.
they bond immediately w/ owners and produce asexually, so no need for mates!
unfortunately for dd's, reproduction can take years to perfect and achieve,
so those deer who have offspring, are considered 'more valuable.'


dolldeer information:
- hate warm weather/humidity
- can grow moss/algae on them like sloths do
- they reproduce using their plime (paw slime), sunlight and a strict diet
- plime also serves as a plant growth stimulant & has similar properties to lanolin.
- for everytime you gift/trade a dd, it's horns crack & they lose their eyesight

(slowly after every gift/trade)
- separation anxiety is extremely common in dds
- all dd's come from the same mother, so pairings aren't allowed.
- sibling relationships are fine though!

• first rule please don't beg, bribe or harass other members, artists, or staff!
• second rule doll deer is a closed species, please refrain from creating
  your own doll deer adoptable. any designs made by anyone who isn't
  an artist for the species are not officially recognized as doll deer.
• third rule selling doll deer for currency, pets, etc isn't permitted. trading dd is fine ♥
• fourth rule doll deer cannot be used as a fursona, they are meant to be a companion
  to existing fursonas.
• fifth rule when readopting out a doll deer, all previous owners of the dd must be disclosed.
  this is to keep track of the state of horns/eyesight.
• sixth rule autobans include blackmail, theft of a doll deer/doll deer design, or
  repeated breaking of the rules.
  
  
  3 warnings, autobans cannot be repealed.
