:: Rules ::

Postby ABeardedDragon » Sun Jun 04, 2017 1:45 pm

Main Post || Rules || Requests || Mutations || Transfers || Breeding || Adoption || Waiting List || Claimed List

All rules are subject to change.
General:
All main thread rules apply.
Do not harass others for breedings.
Do not rush the artists.
You can request one trait to pass down, there is more information in the requests section.
These requests are optional for the artist, they do not have to complete them.

Pairings:
Only biologically male and female pairs may breed.
However, other couples may adopt an egg.
Inbreeding is not allowed, inbred pythons will be made infertile.
Pythons can be bred an unlimited number of times.
You can use other people's pythons to breed with yours, with permission.
You can use two pythons from other people to breed, but they must post the form.
You must link to both pythons' original pages.
If using someone else's python, you must link to the owner's profile page too.
After a breeding is posted, the parents must wait two weeks before breeding again.
Hatchlings can be bred after two weeks.
Pythons must have a name and gender on their post to breed.

Hatchlings:
There can be up to two hatchlings per clutch, there may be more in the future.
It is up to the owner(s) of the pair to decide what to do with the hatchlings.
Hatchlings can be re-adopted or gifted straight away if the owners do not want to claim them.

Artists Rules:
Realistic morphs only, though you can add unusual markings on occasion.
Rolls must be randomised but you can do this however you wish.
I will roll the genes if you don't know them.
Roll the number of hatchlings per clutch.
You don't have to complete additional requests, they are optional.
You can be as active as you wish.
Number the clutches correctly.
Change the background transparent when the clutch is claimed.
You can do your own breedings or have another artist do it.
Message the users when their clutch is complete, if possible.
You can quote the forms you would like to claim or message me.

Basic form for artists:
You may edit this as long as parts are not added or removed. Replace mother and father with the correct pair if the clutch is adopted.

WIP!
Chimeric:
A python has two separate sets of genes and both are displayed. Only one set of genes is used in a normal breeding, which is randomly rolled. If chimeric is rolled for a hatchling, both sets are used.
5% chance to pass down

Somatic Mutation:
A python has faulty genes that switch off in certain areas, effectively hiding the gene in that area. It can affect one gene or multiple. The rest of the python is not affected. The faulty gene still passes down normally. Does not show on normals.
10% chance to pass down

Themed Markings:
A python that has specially themed extreme markings can pass them to their hatchlings. This is more than one or two unusual markings, the whole snake is unnatural. Hatchlings that roll this but have a gene that prevents the markings from showing can still carry the markings, and pass them down to their hatchlings.
40% chance to pass down

:: Breeding ::

How adoption works:
You can submit a python pair for adoption as long as they are a biologically male and female pair. This works as regular breeding does in real life.

Percentages:
A heterozygous dominant carries one copy of the dominant gene while a homozygous dominant carries two copies.
All main thread adopts are heterozygous dominants unless otherwise specified.
A het is a carrier of a recessive gene, it does not display the gene.
In a way, a co-dominant is a visual het. A super has two copies of a co-dominant gene.
Non is used here to describe a hatchling that does not carry the desired gene at all.

Heterozygous dominant x Heterozygous dominant = 25% homozygous dominant, 50% heterozygous dominant, 25% non
Heterozygous dominant x Non = 50% heterozygous dominant, 50% non
Homozygous dominant x Homozygous dominant = 100% homozygous dominant
Homozygous dominant x Heterozygous dominant = 50% homozygous dominant, 50% heterozygous dominant
Homozygous x Non = 100% heterozygous dominant

Co-dominant x Non = 50% co-dominant, 50% non
Co-dominant x Co-dominant = 25% super, 50% co-dominant, 25% non
Super x Non = 100% co-dominant
Super x Co-dominant = 50% super, 50% co-dominant
Super x Super = 100% super

Recessive x Recessive = 100% recessive
Recessive x Het = 50% recessive, 50% het
Het x Het = 25% recessive, 50% het, 25% non

If you own both parents:

Father:
Other:

If you own one parent:
Permission must be a screenshot of agreement to use the other parent in a breeding.

Father:

:: Adoption ::

How adoption works:
You can submit a python pair for adoption as long as they are not a biologically male and female pair. The egg(s) will technically not be their offspring but for simplicity, the hatchling(s) will not be able to breed with their adoptive parents. The genes are also 'passed down' differently.

Percentages:
If one or more of the adoptive parents carry a gene, it will be rolled for with the following percentages. Each gene will only be rolled once, no matter if both or only one parent has the gene.

Super genes have a 70% chance to appear as one copy (co-dominant).
Super genes have a 40% chance to appear as two copies (super).
Dominant genes have a 60% chance to appear, only ever as a heterozygous.
Co-dominant genes have a 50% chance to appear.
Recessive genes have a 30% chance to appear.
Hets will not appear.

If you own both parents:
Code: Select all
Username:
Parent 1:
Parent 2:
Other:

If you own one parent:
Permission must be a screenshot of agreement to use the other parent in a breeding.
Code: Select all
Username:
Parent 1:
Username:
Parent 2:
Permission:
Other:
