Kavalian’s, or “Kava” for short, are a large carnivorous species that surprisingly thrives on electricity. Where their ability came from to be able to harness and use electricity is still unknown, and further research is this area is currently a hot topic. They are able to produce lightning and streams of electricity from their tails for communication purposes and for protection.
What is known is that they are able to gather electricity with their long tails. During storms is when Kavalian’s are most active, as they perch themselves in open areas with their tails ready to gather lightning. Their ability to gather this electricity is enhanced due to metal bands and jewelry that are attached to their tail. These bands and jewelry are not only significant for their survival, but are also a part of their culture. They gather and steal hunks of metal and jewelry and craft them into bands to put on their tails at early ages. Over time the Kavalian's will add more bands and adornments to their tails or remodel and build their original band to their liking.
The electricity serves for protection as well as boosted energy for the species. It is found that in times of food shortages their storage of electricity helps keep them alive. Kavalian’s predominantly eat meat by the means of hunting for smaller game such as rabbits, pheasants, and fish. However, it has been found that in large packs of Kava’s they are able to bring bigger animals down such as deer.
Kavalian’s are a social animals that heavily relies on their pack. A loner Kava is rare to find and typically do not fare well.They communicate by growls, yips, and hisses. Their movements and body structure, and a few of their mannerisms resembles big cats. Kavalian’s are an intelligent species with a complex pack structure and culture, however they are still animals. Their contact with humans are typically nominal, however they have increasingly been sighted to make homes in cities near high electrical activity and wiring.
