<<Welcome>>
What is an Aeram?
An Aeram, or Equus machaeram, is a saber-toothed prehistoric predator closely related to horses today. It has large fangs protruding from its lower jaw, which are used for hunting and when fighting for a mate/territory. It is a very territorial creature and either rules its section of land in a herd or alone.
What size is an Aeram?
Young Aerams are dog-sized, and can grow to the minimal size of a horse to the maximum size of a two-story building. It really depends upon the environment and the different factors that can affect growth.

What is the diet of an Aeram?
Aerams are omnivores, commonly eating mammal prey and aquatic prey, such as fish. They occasionally work together to bring down large prey or a group of small prey. The females of the group are usually the hunters and eat first.
What are the social behaviours of the Aerams?
Herds consist of up to three adult males and several females. There may be juvenile males but they are driven out of the herd as they reach adulthood. The advantage to having more than one ruling male is that, if needed, there are more alphas to defend the herd against other males trying to take control of that particular herd. A herd could rule over several acres of land, up to 100 if the herd is large enough.
Female aerams can have up to three foals. The father is either a loner Aeram, if the female is also a loner, or one of the alphas if the female is part of a herd. Female aerams have been known to break away from a herd to join a loner male or another herd in pursuit of love.
Aerams roar to assert dominance. Dominant aerams will have their tails held high and their teeth bared, while submissive aerams will have their tail tucked in between their legs and whimper.
