While exploring the jungles of South America, explorers stumbled upon a colony of two-legged, serpentine creatures. At first the beasts scattered, but once the biologists came in the beasts started to get used to humans, and became inquisitive. When one biologist found an orphaned whelp and raised it, they found that when raised by humans the creatures were incredibly people-friendly. After much studying, it was determined that the creatures were safe to be introduced into society, and they quickly became popular pets.
Since then the beasts- called LionWyrms for their feline-like appearance and behavior- have been fully domesticated. They come in a wild array of colors and markings, and are typically very friendly.
