Chiesols are a medium-large species of canine, bred from English bull mastiffs, german shepherds, labrador retrievers, and chinooks, that are the result of mutations that occurred in mine-working dogs that were abandoned in the mineral mines during nuclear fallout. Many years later, when people discovered the abandoned mine shafts, they also found the strange, horned, glowing dogs that had survived on various rodents, reptiles, and bugs that crept into the caverns for shelter.
Their natural diet consists primarily of bats, which explains their ability to make great leaps straight up. They have taken quite well to being reintroduced into society, and seem to remember their origins with man. Typically out-going and having a cheery presence, Chiesols are quite popular as pets!
Chiesols seem to have an endless array of the horn varieties they may develop. Some even grow antlers, shedding and regrowing them seasonally. Pups do not start developing horns until they are 6 months old, and usually finish growing them by the time they are two years old. They do not reach full maturity until they're two years of age. The puppies are heavy-bodied, with thick fur, large paws, thin tails, and flopped ears. Chiesols either have fully flopped, half flopped, or upright ears. The body is strong and muscular, built for heavy work. The tail is sickle style, and fully furred.
All Chiesols, have almond-shaped eyes, and long fangs. They always look as though they are smiling, and are usually very easy going.
