The Ravens of Kserin
These are the Ravens of Kserin
They are a subspecies of Ravens, bred with multiple species, their black main color is the most dominant. They almost always are black, dark colored, or they will have a albino every now and then. They also dont tend to go away from natural colors. Now, this species is crested, and has a single loon feather on it's side head. This came from a species bred into it. This feather is commonly brightly colored, and will rarely be pastel colored, dull, or even(very rare) black or white in sub-colors or full colors on the feather. They are normally accompanied with a necklace/amulet. Something to hold their Magic. Yes, they hold Magic. They are very odd creatures, and are endangered, so they use their Magic to defend themselves. Their magic can only be used as a defense, or a help. Anything negative as a attack backfires in some way...ex: shooting out a attack may make you ill, sending a curse will make you pass out, and to send a death spell will make your blood boil for days. Yep, these birds have their own sense of karma...(trying to get a laugh? nevermind...wasn't funny). Now, the Ravens of Kserin are also very intelligent, so they may create their own armor/clothing. Maybe a scarf... or a helmet, but remember these birds have to fly, so their armor has to be light(or must be enchanted to be so).
Now, Armor is normally made out of a rare and light metal, not even found on the element table. This metal is light, and strong, but not as strong as a more common, and heavier metal. This light metal is called Sheal and has a blue-purple shine on it. It is common in armors, but rare to find. Now, the harder and heavier metal(normally used as claw-tips or jewelry for royal birds) is a dark red metal. It is named Phoris and is hard to dent. This metal must be enchanted to be worn by a bird(because it will crush a bird, relentless of size, if tried to use as armor and not enchanted).
Metals CANNOT be dyed. so armor must hold it's original metal's color.
Now....to enchant Phoris is hard, takes many years to set in, and lots of money. Normally birds will invest their livelihoods to buy a small leg guard for their child or pass them down as heirlooms. Sometimes, metals are mixed into molds to make a good helmet. Enchanted Phoris is lighter then Sheal, and is more durable, and often smells like....peaches. Don't ask...
