Oasis mongrels live in the Sahara Desert. They survived there ever since the dinosaurs died out and stayed there ever since. Rarely ever will they venture far from the great pack. as they aren't usually nomadic, they need the social bond between all the clans within this enormous pack. Their clans' numbers can reach up to a hundred mongrels, some even more, yet the smallest they can possibly ever get is down to twenty.
Description
Note that they live in the desert and hardly need any fur during the daytime, so they keep it very short. Although it is hot in the desert's days it can drop below zero during the night. So they bundle up in their large burrows,the pups stay in the middle to keep their tiny bodies warm for the night. The adults however are perfectly fine, they grow used to it and through evolution they can regulate their body heat to where they aren't too uncomfortable not to sleep. the gem levitating above their back is what caused this to happen.
During the days the adults take care of the pups, fanning them off with their large fanned tails. if they have no pups, they can rotate their tail ninety degrees in either direction to fan themselves. males have one large fan in the shape of a spade, and females have two fans forming an 8 shape.
The mongrel's aura determines what temperature to put its surrounding temperature at, giving a soft glow to determine if it is at work or not. The aura is the dog's soul and heart. The glow dims if it is sad, shines brightly if it is angered, and it keeps a soft steady glow if it is neutral. For the emotions in between= it gives off a warm glow if it is happy, gives a small rhythm of blinking light if it is annoyed.
