Unela wolves are tall, slender canines with long tails, black antlers, and a thick mane. These canines are mostly female. They are not aggressive by nature, but they are fiercely loyal, and they will die protecting what is rightfully theirs.

Unelas are sun wolves. They live in small packs and thrive on sunlight. These wolves spend their entire day outside on a sunny day, conserving energy. They sleep through long storms to keep from becoming exhausted. For an extra boost, they eat sunstars, small star-shaped fruits that grow in forests within the gorges in which they make their homes. The juice of these fruits is replenishing as well as healing.

Unelas got their name from the ancient sun goddess Unelanuki. She granted the power of the sun to the noble wolf, thus creating the first of these creatures- a strong brute named Laki. He now travels the sky each day, carrying the sun across the sky to create sunrise and sunset. He was very dutiful, until his brother Aym, the carrier of the moon, demanded that he stop his work, and give the moon and its darkness more power. Aym was too powerful for Laki to stop on his own, and so more packs of Unelas were created to defeat him. To this day, these wolves guard light and the life it brings, protecting it from the darkness.

Unlike many other guardian species, Unelas do not wear many trinkets. An esteemed warrior will receive a small, golden sun-shaped locket that contains a ray of sunlight. This will help to heal them if they are severly injured in battle; it is only used in extreme situations. An Alpha will have tiny golden pearls strung over their antlers, a show of wealth and dominance.

Within their lifetimes, Unelas will become loyal to four beings- Unelanuki, Laki, their alpha, and another. This is often a mate, but recently many wolves have given loyalty to kind humans. These humans are very special, and must be chosen, deemed worthy by their wolf to have its loyalty. But they also must have a connection with their wolf.

To show you wish to become part of a wolf's life, you must prove that you are worthy. Answer these correctly, and you may find a friend in the packs.
