About the Species
Lepiorvus is a rabbit-like species with a squirrel tail and antlers (only males).
Name:
Lepiorvus
Lepre: italian, means rabbit
Iora: irish, means squirrel
Cervus: latin, means deer
Coat:
Their coat is velvety soft and smoothie. They appear in different colours and patterns, but no neon colours. Lepiorvus with tiger/zebra stripes are very rare. The coat adapts to the environment, means, that in forest, rainforests and deserts they usually have short coat, in mountain regions long and softer coat.
Habbitat:
Lepiorvus survive everywhere, they're very adaptable. The first Lepiorvus were discovered in wooded areas and mountain regions but can also be found in deserts (only near oases) and rainforests.
Diet:
Lepiorvus are herbivores. They feed on what the nature gives them.
Forests: Berries, several flowers, gras, fern, leaves, pinecones, nuts, roots and mushrooms
Rainforests: Leaves, fern, gras, roots, several flowers and fruits
Mountain regions: Berries, several flowers, gras and roots
Deserts: Blossoms and fruits of cacti, palm leaves, dates, sometimes gras and ferns
Behavior:
Lepiorvus are sometimes very shy and it takes a long time till they get used to humans but when they got used to they never leave you and love you for ever. They like to be groomed and petted and love to cuddle all the time.
Lepiorvus breed only at special times, mostly between winter and spring; summer and autumn. You can only breed two Lepiorvus from the same habitat. They only give birth to one offspring and it's very very rare that there will be two. If you breed two rare Lepiorvus (with stripes) it's very rare that the offspring also hast stripes and very very very rare with two offsprings. After 1 month they grow to teen stage, after another month to adult stage.
Abilities:
With their big hindlegs they can run very fast and jump very high. They can also climb like squirrels. The male ones defend their family with their antlers.
Age:
- 1 month = 1 human year
- from birth till 2 weeks = baby stage
- from 2 weeks till 1 month = teen stage
- from 1 month and up = adult stage
