Swedish Mountain Drafts

(c) Tiara - 2012

Adoption and Buying: You can only adopt 10, and you may NOT return them to be put back up for adoption. Each male for adoption is a gelding. That is the adoption rules. Any SMD to be adopted out will be gelded/ fixed. However these rules do not apply if you are buying. Buying is where you can buy them with art. So the more art, the more valuable they are. However, you may not sell your SMD without talking to me about what art you are looking for.

Breeding: Breeding is closed for now, but below is some details for when it opens.
When breeding a pair of SMD the stallion must not be a gelding, as geldings are not able to reproduce- same for fixed mares. The pair you choose must be of equal value to have a foal. So, for example:
GOOD BAD
Stallion has 2 pieces of art + Mare that has 4 pieces of art = no foal (reason: Not equal value)
Stallion that was adopted + Mare that has 1 piece of art = no foal (reason: Stallion is a gelding)
Stallion has 3 pieces of art + Mare that was adopted = no foal (reason: Mare is fixed)
Stallion has 4 pieces of art + Mare that has 4 pieces of art = foal (reason: equal value)

Good Questions:
Is the art done by the person who wants the foal or is drawn by different people?
When buying a SMD, you buy it by making as much art. Like an auction. If 1 person makes 1 piece of art, then you want to make 2 pieces of art to win. Once it's won, that will become it's value. After winning the auction, you may still add more art over time to increase it's value, however the art MUST be by you. If someone makes fan art or such it will not count.

When breeding, who gets the foal?
The foal can belong to both owners- which can be beneficial because then both of you can make art of the foal to increase it's value. So you can do 2 pieces of art and your breeding partner could do 5 pieces of art and make the foals value of 7.

Rules

Postby x-Birch-x » Sun Sep 23, 2012 1:56 pm

RULES
No claiming breed as your own. That should be obvious!
No complaining!
If you don't own it, you can't use it.
No adopting for other people
No whining!
No posting for pity!
No breeding is allowed yet
No asking to be an artist.

To clear up why I post complaining and whining and the pity rule is because that is the reason why I decided to quit any and all previous adoptables; and I will not tolerate any of it from my own adoptable.

Complaining- complaining is when you think something is unfair.
~~I chose certains ways for certain reasons. I don't need 100 PM's of complaints

Whining- That is when you don't get what you want and put it on other people
~~I'm pretty sure you're not a baby, so don't act like one

Posting for pity- When you post discouraging yourself and hoping other people will cheer you up.
~~If you don't have one, you're not trying hard enough. If you think you'll never get one, then fine, you'll never get one.

About

Postby x-Birch-x » Sun Sep 23, 2012 2:00 pm

Some of the details and information about the SMD breed

Height:Swedish Mt. Drafts are a bit on the average side of size. They are usually around the 19 hand mark, and at it's tallest- 23 hands. The shortest they go for is 17 hands; any shorter and they become dwarf Swedish Mt. Drafts.

Weight:They eat a little more than usual, and can weigh up to more than 3,000 lbs.

Temperament: This breed thinks it's small, and can be clumsy; but on another note they are generally a docile breed. If they are found in the wild, they are easy to catch and tame, due to it's large size.

General Use: Swedish Mt. Horses are best at pulling carts, pulling loads, and showmanship shows. Because of their large size, when they start running, it's hard to stop or turn or jump. Jumping this breed is the number one cause of a broken canon bone, which will result in having to be put to sleep.

Living Conditions: Most horses of this breed are usually kept outside in the pasture with a tall run in a stable they can go under for when it rains or natural disaster.

Common Marking and Coat Colors:Just like every other horse, but it's also unique because it can have many different combos of markings and coat colors

Bodily Built: The Swedish Mt. Horse has the Romanian shape of the face (the curve), while the neck is thin compared to other draft breeds. The mane is often compared to the Norwegian fjord cut with a long and cut forelock. It's tail will only grow to be as long enough to reach it's back joints. The feathering starts a bit before it's ankle and is thin and soft rather than thick and oily. The hooves are hard on farriers because there is a small inward curve. Some people are trying to believe evolution over time will create more toes for horses.
