What are Neon Drakes?
Well, neon drakes are a sub-species of the Wind Masters, soon to be available for adoption. They are purely nocturnal, due to their sensitive skin and eyes. Their distinctive neon markings come from bioluminescence, much like many deep sea jellyfish. The drakes can control the color on these a few shades, and create a sort of shimmering effect with them. Using this they communicate, even though they do have a basic language and are fully capable of learning another language. Their luminescent patches are highly sensitive, and they use it to determine where things are around them by feeling the disturbance in the air. But this sensitivity makes it nearly impossible to ride them, and it is rare to find one both large enough to ride and without any markings on their shoulders. Some drakes also have a "mane" of sort, mostly made up very fine antennae, and these have a highly acute sensitivity to their surroundings, to the point of being able to detect small insects. They are mainly herbivores, but have been known to scavenge meat at times. They never hunt though, only using their teeth for defense. Occasionally they create elaborate 'dances' at night, shimmering their lights and flying in complex patterns around each other and making a spectacular show. Some drakes bond to humans, and here is where you will find the ones who will!
How can I adopt one?
The compitatition is different for every artist, but as an example to adopt one of the drakes that I have created personally, you have to fill out this form
And your entry will be judged in the time and effort put in it.
What if I don't know what to do with my drake?
Feel free to do just about anything! Write a story (as long as you don't try to profit personally from it) Create a RP, use it as a subject for drawings, show it off to friends, really it's not that hard to find something! And if you ever run out of things to do, or simply don't want your drake anymore, please simply inform me and I will add it back to the list of adoptable drakes!
I want to be an artist!
Well then, please PM me with examples of your art and what postition you would like. A Guest artist may draw up to four drakes, and keep one of them for him/herself. A full-time artist may make as many as they wish, but are urged not to flood this place with adoptions! The limit is three a week, but with three or four artists and a slow adoption rate, it can pile up! Please keep in mind how many drakes we have up for adoption already, and keep the rarer forms, like the ones with manes and ones that you can ride RARE, there's no point in saying they're rare if they're all over the place!
