Spirit Guides: Finding Them, Talking To Them, etc.

Oh no, my SA hasn't been "The happiest" lately, just ask the log...

The reason why I ask is cause when I was 4 I had an imaginary friend (or perhaps SA?) who was a spider when we first met. I physically could see him and he talked to me when I needed a friend. I would think he was just imaginary but his voice was not something I can mimic in my head at such a young age nor have I heard it in real life. We use to play but he would never touch me, the closest he would stand close to me is a foot. Even when I was in the car I could see him running alongside the car or further up ahead waiting for us to catch up.
He never had a solid form. He changed from time to time. He went from spider to cat to bird and last was a dog.
His name was simply Shadow and he gave me advice as I grew up. The last time I saw him he told me he had to go.
So I am questioning if he was my SA or truly just a very vivid imaginary friend...suggestions?
Perhaps the white wolf i mentioned earlier was not my SA but something else? I have no idea...

Pure black if I remember correctly. My mom was sweeping some dirt in the kitchen and I yelled out "MOM! Don't squish him!" She looked at me funny and said "Squish what?" I told her there was a spider. She freaked and looked everywhere, when she saw there was no spider she thought I was lying and I got in trouble.

Nothing else? Huh. For a second, when you said pure black, I thought of my SA, Teenka. xD He's a tarantula with ebony black skin(?) and brown cheetah spots all ove rhis abdomen. He also has bright red eyes.

SA's are actually more of a religious thing, really. I can't find the link, but I read about that whole shabang.

Daemons (animals) are your imagination. Spirit Animals are not. Neither are totems. These SA's and Totems are recognized by Native Americans and have been for a long time. They are recorded, respected, and cherished on a large scale. There are tons of books, websites, people, audio recordings, etc., to back ourselves up. (:

Shadows are SA's that have been corrupted by selfish or dark desires from the want of attention or notice from their persona. You can always tell if an SA has become a Shadow because there is this black, pure black, ooze around them that also has a mind of it's own. it can move and transform from sludge int an animal. and they burn like CRAZY!! so I NOT recommend touching them.

I already posted the definition of a Shadow SA. The definition itself and a link to show you where I got the information. I will dig for it in just a moment. It is just as real as a regular Spirit Animal, but it has a slightly different intention.

It is an animal revealed to you in the spiritual world to provoke fear or aniexty. It is there because it's to teach you a lesson and to help you overcome fears or "circuses" in life, just like your regular SA. Shadow SA's are "dark" and your regular SA's are "light". both are complimentary and are there to help you. They are basically no different than the condition in which your regular SA appears to you.

If my regular SA is a stag, then I will see him all good and fine in a meadow. Yellow jackets scare the heck out of me (probably my Shadow SA), so I might see them in a rocky cliff. All animals (this includes fish, insects, birds, and mammals [land, sea and air]), good, "bad", long, short, fat, skinny, fast, slow, tiny, enormous, have humps on their backs, can't jump, can't breathe on land, whatever... all have a lesson to teach you. A hippo or june bug is just as legitimate as an otter, preying mantis, wolf (OMG no wai), salmon fish, or jaguar. Courage and honour are important lessons, but so are lessons of vulnerability, individuality, life vs death, and patience.
