That's called ignorance and naivety. And it's going to make your life very difficult. .-. I'm not trying to sound rude, but accepting everything without facts is just...silly. To put it kindly >.>

My life is difficult already it can't get anymore worse. Right now, I'm sitting at my house with literally no food. So I don't care. I'll believe anything if it will get me outta here. Plus, the paranormal is aweseome :3

I don't believe they were implying that your life isn't hard right now, I think they were saying that you are genuinely going to suffer from bad judgment if you just believe anything without facts. Believing in things don't necessarily get you out difficult situations, making the right decisions does and that is based on what you believe in and how hard you try to overcome it.
As a side note, I don't mean to be rude, and I'm sorry that you don't have food but sharing that on a topic about paranormal activity was kind of unnecessary to say and personal.

My house is pretty old, and recently paranormal things have been happening, especially in the basement.

First, my 7 year old shih tzu, Lilly, is a very quiet dog that never barks. But the odd thing is that she has been barking at walls and thin air recently, and once even backing away and whimpering.
My 8 month old german shepherd mix who never leaves my side and follows me everywhere, was sitting at the top of the stairs and growling at nothing.

I also have seen shadows in the upstairs hallway and in the basement, and once I saw the figure of a man standing in the doorway of the laundry room, which is a room in the basement (My grandma and grandpa stay in the basement when they come from france for a visit, It has a bed, a kitchen, a bathroom and TV. Pretty much a second mini house.)

The TV also turns on by itself, and you can hear someones footsteps or catch a glimpse of a shadow, these things are usually seen and heard in the upstairs hallway.

Does anyone have an explanation for anything?

Well I've personally found electronics hard to trust. There might be just a problem with the TV itself, but youd have to get it checked by a pro to make sure. Other than that, for the shadows, maybe a car passing by shines its lights trough the windows and some items create shadows?

Well, the TV always turns on to one same station by itself all the time and we rarely use this TV since it is in the basement. Also, there are no windows in the hallway, and I have seen these shadows during the day, so Im not sure.
Also, I think I have caught a picture of an Orb on my friends Phone. I was taking a picture of her doing a split and you can see a small orb right next to her, Ill see if she can text me the picture.

It sounds like a regular haunting to me, if your pets are reacting then something is there. If it's just shadows and noises I would advise just to ignore it as long as it doesn't get worse. Sometimes they can be told to stop doing something if it gets too annoying, but that depends on what exactly is in your house. I think it really depends on if it's a former resident and how aware the entity is of it's surroundings, or possibly something that followed a member of your family home from somewhere. That happened to my dad when he was younger, fortunately it didn't hang around more that a few days but it scared the snot out of him one night by loudly groaning in his face and the only two people in the apartment were him and my mom who was on the other side of the bed. Good luck whatever happens.

The scary thing is that when I adopted my German Sheperd mix from the shelter, Is when the spirit/ghost started getting more active. On the first day, we had to keep him in a large playpen in the basement due to him having kennel cough and not wanting to get our other dog sick. I decided to sleep in the basement with him. At night, he was in his crate and I was brushing my teeth in the Basement bathroom when I heard a loud clang and his water bowl had been flipped over.

Is it possible for spirits to follow pets? But then again, I would still hear noises before we adopted him.

I've never heard of a spirit following a animal but that doesn't mean it could not happen. The timing could be random chance or whatever it is might have already been there and the dog itself was a trigger for some reason.

Maybe the spirit used to be an animal lover and is now trying to interact with your doggie, who knows. :3
Doesn't sound like anything violent or dangerous to me, so I don't see a reason to worry.
