Kodak Easyshare camera help?

Postby Soruc » Sun Dec 11, 2011 4:37 am

I searched google for solutions, but I couldn't find any.
I have a Kodak Easyshare camera, I was taking pictures with it, zoomed in a bit, and then the screen went blank. But it was still on. I tried turning it off, nothing happened. I tried going to the menu, nothing happened. I tried all the buttons, but it was still on, and it still had the blank screen. No matter what I did, nothing happened. It was basically frozen in place. I even tried replacing the batteries, but nothing worked.

Can I save my camera? Or should I buy another one? That thing costed $300 dollars, I don't want to blow another $300 or above. Or rather, I don't want my mom to waste another $300. It was a birthday present, I told my mom that I wanted Nikon, but she got me a Kodak anyways. She's obsessed with that brand, I don't know why.

Hopefully it isn't system failure.

When did you get it? if it's within the warranty time (normally for something like that it'd be around a year, i'm guessing) you can send it back to the shop your mum bought it from, and they have to either replace it or refund in full. (then maybe you can get a nikon!) I have a Canon, and never had a problem with it either! XD

 good luck!

I got it from Giant Tiger (I live in Canada), and my mom bought it on December 1st, my birthday. I'm not sure if it has a warranty or not, I want to try and fix it before I return it.

that's fair enough, cos you'd have to pay postage (don't know what Giant tiger is, i'm UK)

Giant Tiger is only in Canada, so it makes sense that you wouldn't know what it is. Basically, it's like your average Walmart/Target, except it has more food.

Anyways... I think the camera's dead. I'll try and see if my parents and friends can help me with it...

Walmart??? If it's dead, have you changed the battery for a new one?? make sure you put it in the right way!!
Also in some electrical applieances, there's a plastic tab somewhere near the battery to stop it from running down. that might still be in there

Yes, i've changed the battery, and I double checked to see if it's in the correct way. And my camera doesn't have that plastic tab.
