Seahorses mate for life, and range from .6 inches to 14 inches in size. Because of their shape, they are not good swimmers, and in stormy seas, can die from exhaustion. Seahorses are carnivores, and consume 3,000 brine shimp per day, since they have no teeth or stomach, they have to eat almost constantly to survive. They use fins on their back and their head to propel themselves and steer, and they use their tails to anchor themselves while they eat.
