I'd just like to note: When you have a small child, it doesn't matter how much explaining you do, they aren't going to understand why they have to sit still for two whole minutes! Sure, it's a beautiful gesture, but it's not possible for everyone. (We were all little wiggly kids once. )

I can't believe eight people voted no. Do you have any respect for the people who gave up their lives so you could live in peace?
My school does an assembly each year on November 11th. We all do 2 minutes of silence at 11:00 a.m., sound bugles, and do a bit of a memorial.

I voted 'no' because why should I give 2 minutes on THAT exact day? I thank them everyday of my life anyway

I know about that little children thing. I have a 3 year old brother and he can barely be quiet for on e minute unless my parents are sitting there doing something that needed silence..
