My parents can be pretty strict too; but now that I'm older and have proven how I can be responsible, I'm free to do more.

I have the same probelm too.

I normaly stay on my computer, so my fathr yells at me to get off of it, get a scocial life. Not as easy as I thought. I have friends but If I come home frm school and text them he yells at me, saying I have been talking to them all day so I wasn' allowed to after school. Then it got worse from there. He dosn't let me out of the house yet he said I should go see my friends other than at school. And nope, he wont let me see guys. I only have one guy friend and If I were to go out with him, not even in the way of just friends and when he met him he was trying to get an arranged marrage - joking of course.

my parents are strict on my grammar and spelling so i don't look like or sound like and idiot when typing
"The Templars. Lee. The big man, Haytham. They 'as the money. They 'as the power. That's the reason I threw in with 'em. That's the ONLY reason. [...] They paid me so I said yes. Didn't bother to ask who or how or why. Didn't care."

I think we all have/had that problem at some point.
Especially the "boyfriend" part of it. See, there are even scientific reasons why fathers tend to dislike/hate their daughter's boyfriend[s],
so it's not necessarily something that he is aware of. He just wantd the best for you.
I know, this sounds incredibly stupid and you've probably heard it many, many times.
But it's the truth. Your parents being strict on friends/partners/allowing you certain things
just shows that they care for you, even if you feel like they're doing the wrong things.
And heck, maybe they do. But you must try to understand them, try to see things from their point of view.
They don't forbid you things just for the sake of forbidding them, but because they think it's the best for you.
For example, if they say you're not allowed to watch movie xy, it's most likely because they think you can't handle
the content. It may happen that they underestimate you. My parents did and still do that.
The problem is just that you can't really prove them wrong other than by watching the movie with them,
or whatever they didn't want you to see/do.
They won't believe you're careful and old enough to go on a holiday trip with only your friends and no adults
- unless they let you go and see that you come home safe and happy [or not]
They won't believe you that your friends are trustworthy and nice
- unless they let you stay in contact with them and let time prove it [or not]

The only way you can persuade them to change their minds about some things is to talk to them.
And not in a loud, rude, whiny way. If you want to earn their trust and -to some extent- respect,
you'll have to stay calm and reasonable.
And think about it - maybe they're right about some things.
When I was younger and the new version of The War of the Worlds came to our cinemas,
I wanted to see it. My parents asked me if i was sure about that. i said yes.
The movie scared the hell out of me, because I tried to handle more than I could at that age.
I never told my parents, but I'm sure they know it xD

My parents were't particularly "strict" with me or my siblings, but they always did know what was good for us in the end.

I guess when you're older and have moved on with your life, you'll look back on this and think that it's a bit silly if those are the only problems you're currently facing with your parents.

As sure as the rivers reach the seas,
back in his arms is where she'll be.

Well that's true, but sometimes they can be all-out mean. I get a dollar a week for pocket money. Yes. You heard right. ONE DOLLAR! Well, it would take me 10 years to get $500. Does that put things in perspective?
I know this isnt a ranting forum, but I'm not sure how else to put it... :-P
I make BANNERS!!!! If you want a banner for your siggie, avatar (pic with writing, etc) or RP, PM me cos I do them for free mostly - depending on how much detail is wanted...

92% of the girls would cry if Justin Bieber fell off a cliff and died. 7% of the girls would scream and jump off the cliff after him. Post this in your sig if you are the 1% who pushed him!

95% of teens would cry if they saw the justin beiber at the top of a skyscraper about to jump. Copy this if you are one of the 5% who would sit there with popcorn and a camera and yell "DO A FLIP!"

99.999% of girls would die/faint/freak out if justin bieber was kidnapped. if you are one of the .001% happily poking your victim with a fork copy+paste this to your signature
