Tablet?

Postby axolotls » Thu Oct 13, 2011 11:16 am

Hello ^_^
So, I'm thinking about getting a tablet, for drawing. I just have a few questions, because then it occurred to me that I don't actually know anything about a tablet besides that it is used for drawing and whatnot.
1. You can see what you are drawing directly on the tablet, correct? Like, it would be like drawing on paper so you can see it without having to look up at anything, right?
2. Do any come with their own software so I wouldn't have to use photoshop or anything?
3. What is a good tablet for $70 or under?

Thanks!
EDIT:
Thanks for the answers, guys! One more question: Bamboo Tablet or Bamboo Fun Tablet? Which is better, and what's the difference?

I believe bamboo tablets are around 70 bucks, or cheaper. And the showing you what you are drawing on the tablet itself, Im pretty sure it does that. I havent gotten mmy tablet yet. But after reading reviews, Bamboo is the way to go.

I have a bamboo. It does not show you what you're drawing on the screen, you have to look up at your computer screen, but it's not at all difficult. I know there are a few (And more expansive) tablets out there that show you what you're working on on the tablet screen.

I only own one type of tablet, and it came with corel 4, which is a painting program, if that's what you're asking. If you're asking about installation, it also comes with a disk that will install onto your computer.

As I have said, I've never really looked into any other tablets but the wacom bamboo. I believe the cheapest one they have is around $65.00.

Good luck.

I have a tablet from a brand called Genius. It works wonderfully, and it's easy to use and can produce great art. I am not sure of the price due to the fact that I received mine as a gift.

Only the extremely expensive professional ones.

2. Do any come with their own software so I wouldn't have to use photoshop or anything?

They come with Photoshop, but its not a very good version. It still works though.

3. What is a good tablet for $70 or under?

The best cheap tablets are bamboo tablets, and the least expensive of them is $79.
