Doesn't mean I'm 'gifted'.
Not trying to offend anyone, simply popping in to state an opinion.
Oh, and also, I disagree with a post made a few pages back. Normal people are not 'boring'. There are non 'gifted' people that are crazy and weird. You don't have to be a 'genius' to have fun my friend.

I understand the theory of 'multiple intelligences'.
But, catch on to the phrase multiple. Everyone Possesses their own intelligence. Which means nobody is smarter than anybody here.. In all honesty you are just being very.. cocky about knowing things.
Calm it down a bit, maybe? C:

Lol, yeah, I like being dramatic at times, sorry... xD

To the other post.. I'm sorry about my post about the idiots. It was rude; I'll edit it out. If we want to brag, I'm sure we can. It doesn't seem as if logical and linguistic intelligence is appreciated that much, its nice to talk about it with people are alike as you :3

I have a username? xD

I'm not absolutely positive about you bragging about how high your IQ is, or anything similar. Wouldn't that make someone 'under national standards' feel small, dumb? It's like me bragging about how I have a Charlie the Unicorn avatar while you're stuck with a different one, making out my avatar is better, for example.

Yes, I understand your point of being able to communicate with someone sitting on the same (or around) level of intelligence. However, I would like to point out, people's IQ varies very widely - you'll have a hard time finding someone at the same level.

I'm 'gifted'. Academic things come naturally to me.
Yet, I'm not popular. I'm socially awkward. I have no idea how to be tactful. I also hardly have a conscience. People always think I'm being rude but it's mostly because I can't sugarcoat things. I apparently 'frighten' people, and I am classified as 'freaky'.
I feel guilty for not feeling guilty for something I should be guilty for.
Really, I would much rather be 'people' smart. It's a better skill to have, overall.
I don't think other people are dumber than me. They're just better at different things. It's true the world isn't fair, and not all of us have amazing talents, but everyone has faults. I suck at swimming and can't make friends easily.

Honestly, about all these posts on the topic, even though I would be clumped in the category that this thread was made for, I agree. I mean, I understand how you guys feel special, and I also understand multiple intelligences, but I don't think it is such a thing to brag about. I do believe we should talk about it, but going on and on about how easy school is for you is not the right way. Personally, I came here to see if anyone knew about the academic programs offered worldwide and what they were like. I came here for help.

Mostly the IB (International Baccalaureate) and the Enhanced Program. I was wondering if anyone was in them.

I did the IB program. In Holland. For six years, I followed it. Went through it with not too much trouble. But I could not stand the people in my class. Because they believed they were 'the Elite', I don't believe I am better than anyone. I don't believe I'm smarter and more special than people, just because I did that program.

Yes, I am good at thinking. Yes, I am smart. But right now. I am doing a study that is way below what I am capable of. I am studying Animal Care, on an MBO level (meaning It's an intermediate work-education). I'm capable of far far more, but I made the decision to study how to shovel animal poop. Why? Because it's my passion, it's where my heart lies. I love animals, I knew nothing about them before I started and I've learned very very much from my Best Friend. Who according to people like my old classmates, would be 'dumb'. But I don't believe that. She is not dumb. She is very intelligent. So she didn't follow the same level high-school as me, but we do follow the same study now. And in that study, she is better than me and I can learn things from her as well as she can learn things from me. Nearly everything I know about how to treat animals, I got from her. She is talented at drawing, talented at how to treat animals, it comes natural to her. I couldn't really say I have a real talent of my own, I am not creative

The people in my class, do have 'lower IQ's' according to standards. But that does not make them dumb, or less than me. I respect them, and they are brilliant, just as smart as me. Just because their 'grades' and 'school level' don't prove that. And I have an IB Diploma. Does not make them any less special than me, any less smart than me, any less than me in whatever way.

And please don't respond to this with 'you're throwing your education away, you're ruining your career, you could do so much 'better''
Because I don't believe in being 'best'. I believe in being happy, and doing the things that make me happy. Yes, that means shoveling poo and petting animals, taking care of another living creature.... OVER being a brilliant scientist, philospher, whatever I could have been. THAT person, would not have been me. Right now. I am ME, and I have never felt better in my life about who I am.

Everyone is intelligent in some way, everyone is gifted in some way, everyone is special in some way. Nobody is better than anybody else.

I feel slightly offended. Sorry to say, but you guys sound a bit narcissistic. Just because you're a bit smarter doesn't make you more of a person. As Steve Jobs [Rest in peace.] cleverly stated once,

"I don't want to be the richest person in the graveyard."

In the end does it really count?

I take my hat off to you, my friend. You have guts and my respect for that. <3

In my honest opinion, there was no need to tell gamzee she had stuck her nose in a place it didn't need to be. It is a public thread, and it is a place for people to contribute and share their own opinions, while gaining insight from other people to see how you see it.

"Gifted" people are like any other person.
They laugh, be sad, feel guilty, etc. Does your IQ really prove anything in life? does it really prove you are above others just because you're just that little bit better at something? I do not believe in "Gifted" people. We are all the same. We can be better at something than others, but they are too, in turn, better than us at something else. People like you, me, or that random person behind their screen reading this, all deserve to be treated equally and not be labelled with "Gifted", "Dumb", "Stupid", "Above Average".

    Excuse me?
There is no need to insult people based on their level of intelligence. People deserve to be treated equally. You may be a touch bit smarter, but that does not mean -in any way- the rest of us are idiots. I am a "normal" person who achieves normal grades in every subject. It does not mean you can label me and others as 'boring' or 'stupid'. I take great offence to this topic.

Yes, I could leave and just ignore this topic, but to look in a topic and seeing people badmouth their peers? I will not stand for it.

*No bad feelings are meant towards anyone, and nor is the intent of my post to cause anyone offence.
    And that is my say.

That was exactly what I was going to respond to these two post. Ninja'd.

I'll just have agree with every word Empti wrote. Right, you might be smarter than your classmates. So? You're not a better person. You're not 'special'. You're like everyone else, just with higher IQ, and there is absolutely no need to create a topic just to brag about that - while this may not have been your intention while making it, this is what it turned into... and the fact that the first post was almost entirely bragging doesn't help at all.

'Idiot' is a very rude word. Being less clever doesn't make you an idiot, and it is simply mean call someone that just because you are better at something.

Also, I can't understand why is this in the '18+ board'?

I always wonder what makes people think that they are 'gifted' or 'better/smarter' then others. Honestly, everybody is good at something. I don't see why you want to label yerself as 'gifted.' If you need it to feel special, then by all means, please do. I'll label myself as 'awesome' then ^^.

Hubby agreed with me and made me this:
