1. Wolves and snow leopards aren't endangered, so there's no reason we can't kill them. . .

2. As a matter of fact, they may be getting hunted due to overpopulation. { don't take it from me, though }

3. Their families are based on maternal instinct. If one of their kits/cubs/etc. died, they would mourn their death but not on a competent/intelligent level like us.

4. Essentially the same thing as number three.

These creatures are hunted because, you said it, they're dangerous and may become over populated. If things become over populated and they are dangerous, that would be a bad, bad thing.
