Musical Please help!

Hi there! I have a problem. It will be my first drama club day tomorrow morning. I really want to get a part, but my problem is, I'm kind of afraid to sing a solo and infront of alot of people. (Auditions aren't for about a month) Ive had this problem for a long time, I can first remember it around 3rd or 4th grade.i am really afraid people that laugh at Me if i mess up or Dont sing a song well. Also Im up against girls who have been dinging fancing and acting since they Were younger. My friend A, Has been acting For a long time and Even just got a role in a movie. My Other friend, J, has Is a dancer (We are doing "Footloose") and i know girls with great voices. I Dont want them to talk about me behind My back if i dont dp as well as them.Also, I don't know what I would sing for an audition.

What so you think I should do about this? What I'm mainly looking for is advice with my singing fear. Please help me!

I also will share that fear next year. My advice is not to worry about it, and you can only do your best. Chances are that most people will be caught up in their lines, or feeling a bit nervous as well that they'll laugh at you. I admit, that I am going to audition for something like this next year and we are probably going to have to sing a solo too, so don't worry you are not alone in that fear ;]

I'm not quite sure if the forum above would be able to help. Anyways, I have the same fear. When I auditioned for Mulan, I just got my friends to come with me and sing to soft for the director to hear, but I felt a lot more comferted. After that, since I was always with my friends and never was completely alone, I didn't get stage fright!
