"Dreaming Wide Awake" by Poets of the Fall is one of those songs for me. I got into them after liking the songs they did for the game Alan Wake. The lead singer's voice is very easy on the ears. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpLRJJasxMM is the song.

You don't know how hard it was to narrow it down to 2/3 songs per album. This band is seriously amazing, and so under-recognized. I swear, I must be the only person on this site who knows about them. Hopefully this will help with that.
