Broke up with J on Sunday night. I feel much better now, to be true. He wasn't at school on Monday or today, so I haven't had to talk to him. Anyways, I learned that over the weekend, MC asked my friend out. She had broken up with him a long ways back because she felt that their relationship was going too fast and she wasn't ready for it. So, after a few days, she agreed to going out with them. Well, an hour or so after they started dating, they'd alreay kissed. I hung out with them last night, and I noticed that MC is incredibly affectionate, which only made my heart break more at seeing them together. However, that night, something happened (if you want to know, PM me) that made her believe that their relationship was even faster than it had been before. It was too much for her and, half for her sake and half out of jealousy, I told her to break up with him. She talked to him after talking it slow, and he replied in a way that made her call him a jerk. So she asked me to breakup with him for her. I did, but since I knew how much he liked her, I did it very gently. This was basically our conversation:
Me: I'm really sorry to say this but, .insertmyfriend'sname. thinks that your relationship with her is too much for her to handle. She thinks that you're being a jerk about the taking it slow thing (I don't, but she does) and so she's breaking up with you.
MC: Oh wow. I'm never talking to her again.
Me: I'm really sorry :( I don't want to sound mean by doing this for her, but if she did it, she'd probably be mean about it. I decided that you didn't deserve that, so I suggested to do it for her so that I could be gentle.
MC: Really?
Me: Yeah. Just because she thinks you're being a jerk and she's my friend doesn't mean I'm going to side with her.
MC: You're just saying that because you feel bad for me.
Me: No, I'm serious.
MC: Serious serious?
Me: Serious serious. You're okay, right?
MC: Yeah c: Thanks a lot. It really does help.
Me: Anytime ^.^
MC: I have to go.
Me: Aww, okay. I'll talk to you tomorrow :)
MC: See you tomorrow! Gnight ;)
Is it just me or does that winky face seem to mean something? I really do think he likes me. And our relationship is only better thanks to my comforting last night. I really want to tell him I like him, or at least ask him if he likes me. I truly want to go out with him. I wasn't quite sure, but after seeing him with my friend, I honestly was wondering how in the world she deserved such sweetness, especially after sort of casting him off because she was hesitant to really be affectionate with him. I told him that he deserved better, and he said, "Like who? You?" all jokingly, but there was just this look in his eyes... I playfully agreed and, even though he laughed like it was a joke, I think he took me seriously and I think he was serious too. I'm glad he took me seriously, though.
Is there any good way to find out if a guy likes you without actually asking him straight up?
